Uniform pants with large legs

Postby fatboy » Mon Jun 15, 2015 12:39 am

Hey guys.

Do any of you guys have any suggestions for someone with an extremely small waist, and large legs and buttocks?? "Get a bigger size and tighten your belt!" is the usual response bosses have given me, but that creates such an awful look, with bunched up fabric and some pretty unprofessional looking butt sagging cloth. Tailors consider me a nightmare, because they can't really bring in 4-8 inches on a waist of tac pants and still have them look decent.

I'm prepared to order entirely my own pants at my own cost, and get the proper striping put on myself as well.

If you haven't already should give the 5.11 Stryke pants a try. They have 2 types of "tactical" models and 1 TDU type.

I've got a similar problem - used to be a competitive ski racer back in the day and still spend a lot of times on the slopes in the winter = quads bigger than most pants are designed for.

The Strykes are good as they're the yoga pants of the uniform world... but for the most part it's size up and cinch the belt down.

I've got decent sized thighs from squats/crossfit and those Stryke pants fit me like a pair of skinny jeans. I can't wear them!

The TDU ripstops and the taclites both fit fine though. I wear both at work and some taclites for off-duty range and hiking. Excellent pants.

5.11 strike pants will be your new BFF. I've got a big ol butt and a little bitty waist and they have enough stretch to fit me like a glove.

The only problem with 5.11 is that it is hard to find someone that is a dealer with a lot of their product in stock for you to try on. Apparently, from speaking with the dealer where I got a watch, 5.11 wants an insane buy in ($20k of product first order).

I tried on some stuff at United Uniform in the US the last time I was down but it is a 3hr drive to do so.

Depending on where you work you may be able to try on a pair from a coworker for sizing. I regularly hold try on parties in our female locker room. Lol I've pretty much converted our whole office to the 5.11 crack
