In all seriousness OP.

HSGI has a new TACO pouch for smart phones.

HSGI is GTG.

Not really, just keep useless shit like a cell phone holder and coin purse off of your belt. Some on here have substantially more gear on their belts than others - some because they think it looks cool, others because they actually have a use for it all.

Coin purse

Like I said, it was more to do with wallet/phone carrier. I learned a lesson tho.

"Keep to minimum" = Loaded with sense.

Uhh, thanks?
Bit of background- I've never felt the need to carry my personal phone, or any phone for that matter with me while on duty, but recent events has me reconsidering. (Long story short: radio no worky and high-resolution pictures required) I might be investing in a work-only iPhone for this task.

And I asked for belt location, because for the most part I believe the gear equipment on my belt is of similar setup to police duty belts- radio on left side, and flashlight where the firearm be. Additionally my two cargo pockets are taken with notebooks and additional pens.
I write. A lot.
And because security guard...no vest.

You get a flashlight that you can strap to your belt?
Darn... I wish. I get to keep mine in the back pocket.

Edit: silly joke of course.

You want some advice....don't spend your own money on a Security Guard job and don't go into situations that are unsafe. You don't get paid enough to spend your own money on an iphone or be put in a situation that is dangerous.
Honestly. I've been there.

I know a member that "lost" their phone for months as they used it to take an audio statement.

True story that was passed to me by said member.

I recommend a case called the "Minisuit clipster": (They have it for Samsung / Apple / possibly other models)

Pros: -the "minisuit" part in photo 1 is a clip. It clips like a pocket knife into front pants pocket (saves rooms on belt / more comfortable than belt mounted)
-hard shell on the phone,
-shell goes into a holster with pocket or duty belt clip
-shell also has fold out stand for taking photos / watching movies
-very secure in pocket / even when running
-price: I paid $5 for the the thing (I think they sell for $10 now). Best case I've owned.
KCCO. Wake up. Kick butt. Repeat.

Agreed. Ask your employer to provide the equipment you need and get the radio replaced if it doesn't work. If they refuse, consider looking for another job. Your safety is the most important thing.

I wouldn't be using your phone to be taking high resolution photos for work purposes, even if you misguidedly invested in a "work-only" iPhone. You won't be getting much use out of it the day you actually take photos of something with evidentiary value and the investigating Police officer seizes that phone as evidence.

And I'm sure you could drop a few pens out of your cargo pocket to store your cell phone where it belongs. I'm sure you probably do write a lot, but if you're writing so much that you actually need to keep that many spare pens on you, it's because you work at a desk and never need to leave and can keep a typical hard line phone on your desk and store your cellphone in a drawer.
While you are reading this, your enemy is training.
