Phone Pouch & Belt Location

Postby 800800 » Fri Dec 26, 2014 5:17 pm

Two questions-
Can anyone recommend a good phone holder for larger smartphones? I'm looking to fit my Sony Xperia ZL, and so far have only found one product from Hazard4.
Additionally, where should cellphones go on a duty belt? Beside your radio?

I don't want to sound rude but.. Are you serious with this question?

The phone holder isn't an issued piece of equipment and has no strategic placement. Wouldn't you want to place it where it works best for you?

Why would you want a phone on your belt?

Do your pants not have pockets? Your vest have pockets?

Exactly.^^^

Once I had a large pouch attached to the belt placed on my right hip. It was large enough to fit my wallet and the phone, plus it had a smaller pouch to put whatever.. I used it for coins. It filled quickly.

Got rid of it after the first time I had to run after a perp. It was bouncing up an down to the point I had to hold it.

Keep the belt to minimum.

I would suggest Van knew what you meant, but like me have never actually heard someone use it outside of an episode of NYPD Blue.

I know he knew.

The word.. Perp.. Somehow fit for me at the time. :D

To be honest, I don't watch shows like NYPD Blue. Never found them interesting.

I found a black heavy nylon web pouch with double rear snap secured belt loops with front flap secured by velcro for CHEAP on eBay. They fit my Samsung Galaxy GT-S5690M phone , or my 3 pocket knives, ormy low-price folding multi-tool.
It fits my old duty belt. I can e-mail anyone the eBay page with pictulf!
Drop the reference to "perp" please, before you hurt yoursekf!

Not really, just keep useless shit like a cell phone holder and coin purse off of your belt. Some on here have substantially more gear on their belts than others - some because they think it looks cool, others because they actually have a use for it all.
