I got a new one not too long ago. It looks and feels exactly the same as the old one. Am I missing something?

They had a short term contract to cover us until the new contract was completed. The vest you got was probably from the old contract, I don't think the new vests are being issued yet.

The uniform program is ignoring my questions about the new vest design.

I think you may be under the mistaken impression that the people who will actually be wearing it are being consulted. ;)

That, my friend, is why CBSA Wiki exists!! Where you can voice your concerns to the uniform barons who run the show!! ;) ;) ;)

I tired that....you have to wait and log on when said barons are in the "chat" room about the uniform.

You can also leave a post. I read a few. They're on the primary uniform page.

Do you guys have a picture of your new vest?

As it sits, I have yet to see anything in regards to that and I'm generally pretty tuned into that aspect.
I do believe they are waiting on contractual issues (procurement) first.

I wonder if they will be like the RCMP's or CSC's shirt version of CBSA's current issue.

My understanding is that it will still be an external carrier. Nothing like the vest CSC wears as I understand it but I've been wrong before.

I can't believe I'm going to say this....but the discussion forum between uniform people and officers on Atlas/Intranet is quite informative and nice to see. Officers giving their opinion on what the bomber should/shouldn't have, and uniform personnel acknowledging the input. Damn! CBSA could possibly have something right for a change.
