Anyone have any experience with the Lumintop TD-16? Apparently it has 1000 lumens and can accept 18650 batteries, which is good because i have a drawer full of them and I refuse to keep on purchasing CR123's.
Ever listen to k billy's super sounds of the 70s?

I currently use an Xtar TZ-20. Its rated at 820 (apperently) and it's pretty awesome (and cheap  ) I can only imagine the difference. I personally have just never heard of Lumintop hence me asking

I am sure you read this already ( http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/sho ... 23A-Review ), it seems to be a very impressive torch from the reviews I saw.

Indeed I have, thank you. However field testing trumps lab science

The company is based in Hong Kong, their website is a little amateur and full of spelling mistakes (not that it has anything to do with the quality of the light).I cannot find any no-biased reviews, most blogs have the review from Lumintop up. The 2 year warranty doesn't cover the switches or bulbs (surefire replaced my bulbs on a few occasions).
It does like a good torch; all I wonder is how long their bulbs last. The price seems reasonable.

Just picked up a Fenix PD32 to use as an EDC. Fits great in my support-side jeans pocket and is insanely bright on turbo. Like the strobe feature but wish it could be activated by a double-click on the tailcap.

All in all seems like a great little EDC.

Had my Fenix TK-30 in my hand last night and decided to use it to try and smash out a car window. I'll have to take a better look at it when I get back from my trip but it's not looking so well. Just won't power on it seems.

It had a bezel on it like that. Guess the circuitry couldn't take the trauma?

How hard did you hit it?

My mechanic has one that I ran over and it was alright.

Probably a dozen times. It was using my left hand but I was still swinging as hard as I could. I'm thinking the internal circuitry got damaged as I doubt the LED itself would be...

Turns out the light was able to withstand the abuse no problem. The force apparently pushed the top button of the 18650 cell back slightly into the cell, making no connection with the light contact. Swapped out the cells and it works great!
