HexBright Flashlight

Postby Respond Wayne » Tue Jun 07, 2011 11:53 pm

I just read about HexBright on a friend's Facebook page... It's not in full production yet, but it appears as if funding is well underway for this guys venture... shipping is projected for the end of August... All I have to say is wow, the Flex model puts out 500 lumens and is programmable through your computer!

Here's a little bio on the inventor of this illumination tool...

Christian's diverse work includes projects for Walt Disney, Herman Miller, Northrop Grumman, Sun Microsystems, GM, the US Air Force and a variety of TV shows and movies.

I've pre-ordered a couple HexBright Flex! 8)

Somehow a hyperlink gremlin snuck into your post and did a bad thing to it, so I fixed it up for you.

Pray tell, what exactly would you program on a flashlight? Morse code patterns, perhaps?

Whoopsee, sorry Pete... guess I got a little excited about it... err, I mean the keyboard did!

You will be able to customize how YOU want the light to operate... So you can have a few or many functions activated by the tail cap button switch, functions can be changed by either holding down the switch or tapping it, and yes Morse code could be programmed into it.

OMG Wayne! Does this mean I can program it to go on and off?

Well it appears as if they have more than enough interest in this project, more than three times enough interest!

Another interersting bit of info...

One more note

If I can raise more than my fundraising goal I will be able to run the HexBright Prime and HexBright Flex through a series of tests to qualify them as "tactical" lights. Tactical lights are typically at least 250 lumens and cost over $200. How cool would it be for you to own a 350 lumen tactical light for a $35 pledge?

You haven't seen my flashlight collection Wayne..... My friends keep asking when I'm going to open a museum for it.... :?

Is it so wrong to just want the brightest flashlight with the longest life in a small durable rugged package? Does that make me a bad person?

Technically it does make me a Geardo.....

I think I'm getting to the point where I have flashlights like ATR has knives....

*edit*

LOL... I actually found myself giving some of my unused flashlights away, much like ATR does with some of his knives... 8)
