I found that, in the wide size at least, I could have ordered a half size down from my normal size and been okay. I recommended this to someone else at my port, ordering a half size down, and he said it worked and fit well.

Also the non-wide sizes are apparently pretty narrow.

I have a pair of Rocky's, not the ones you are looking at. It took me months to break them in before they were finally comfortable to wear. I'll give them credit though , after almost two years they have stayed together without showing any serious wear and tear . The most comfortable boots I've ever had were made by Converse , unfortunately they don't make them anymore . I still have them as a backup pair.

Does anyone know if the CBSA allows boots with a side zip? It says in the requirement email the boot must be laced (zipper not permitted), the boots I'm looking at are laced but have a side zip. I was looking at getting these 5.11 ATAC shield boots: http://www.511tactical.com/atac-8-shield-csaastm-boot.html

Hanwag, Lowa, Meindl. All very similar in construction, and some of the best boots you can get.

Has anyone ever tried the Red Wing water proof boots or the Danner Stryke II EMS?? It seems Danner only makes 1 CSA boot. Meindl, Lowa, Hanwagg none of them make a CSA boot. The list gets pretty skinny when you get into a high quality CSA, weatherproof and black boot.

The Danners fit great and were comfortable, however my purchase order was immediately denied because they have side-zippers.

If they're the same boots I'm thinking of, Converse sold the molds and rights to reebok.
I'm on my second pair.
I think they're great boots and well within the allotment also.
Comfortable, light, and wear well.

Hi guys

I'm looking for boots that will be approved by CBSA uniform standards as I ship out to Rigaud soon. The whole "no side zipper" rule is making it very hard to find suitable quality boots, especially boots that will be good for my plantar fasciitis. I put my Birkenstock insoles in my current boots which helps a bit. Does anyone have a list of their approved boots/any recommendations?

Thanks!

I got a pair of RedWing gortex boots and they are awesome and they stand behind their gear. High quality boot that are CSA approved and come in black. Very comfortable good insoles and they have wide sizes.

Is there a store to recommend in Montreal or Quebec city area or in Quebec province for CBSA compliant boots ? (CSA, CSA Omega AND no side zip...). I haven't been able yet to find a store who sells CBSA compliant boots in my area (I am not from montreal area but would move to Montreal or Quebec to do the purchase.

Thank you
