Everyone see the incident with the guy armed with a knife subdued by the TPS with the assistance of a cruiser? Great work guys!

Ya, I saw that on the 8 o?clock news this morning. It was great/creative police work! I wonder if the officers were trying to pin the guy against the parking meter stand or was that pure luck?

It makes sense that the SIU can seize the tape, but do they have the authority to stop the media from showing a video that they took?

I don't know, I will check the PSA to see if it's in there. (tomorrow though)

Nice work folks...

A couple of my platoon mates were down for that this morning... I hadn't finished parade yet. Worked out well for us.

Tasers anyone???

Cheers,
TM

I think they said on the local news that tasers weren't available, but that they're trying to get more in the budget.

Here's to hoping... :drinking:

It's nice that everything worked out well, the guy's very lucky he wasn't shot.

I find it troubling in a way that people are calling for a tazer in this situation, as far as I was trained knife = serious bodily harm or death = firearm, we already have a tool to use in this situation, don't need a tazer.

Though I suppose with that many officers on scene one can deploy a tazer with everyone else providing cover with their firearms.
