Polic Quiz - Use of Force

Postby chimo » Fri Jun 18, 2010 12:38 pm

Question: Given the following scenario, how can you tell the
difference between an Australian, an American, and a Canadian Police
Officer???

"You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small
children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes
around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises
the knife, and charges.. You are carrying a Glock 40, and you are an
expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your
family."

What do you do?

Answer: (Immediate thought processes)

AUSTRALIAN OFFICERS
Answer: BANG!

AMERICAN OFFICERS
Answer: BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click.... (Sounds of reloading) !
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click

CANADIAN POLICE OFFICERS - Immediate thought process !!!
I must not use my taser, I must not use my taser, I must ........
Is the knife a ceremonial kirpan?
Does he prefer to communicate in English or French?
Is this just his way of telling me that he pays my wages ?
Would this be an appropriate time to hug him and sing Koombaya?
Will the media do a profile of him and how he was loved by everyone including his dog?
Is the alleged 'client' a member of the NDP or an Environmental Group?
Is he just a squeegee kid / pan handler trying to make a living on the mean streets?
Is he a member of a gang that is just 'misunderstood' by society?
Is he an undercover Winnipeg Sun reporter looking for a news breaker?
Is he a recent illegal immigrant to this country, and doesn't know how to approach the police?
Is he recently released on parole and hasn't been properly integrated back into the community?
Is he a victim of fetal alcohol syndrome, and just doesn't understand what he is doing?
I should warn and Charter him as he approaches.......

Answer:

If I am carrying a Glock 40 then I am a DEA agent who is the only person in this room qualified enough to carry a Glock 40, and then I shoot myself in the foot OR I stop playing World of Warcraft or Grand Theft Auto, and go out and learn there is no such thing as a Glock 40.

Either way, I decide not to visit forums where people carry REAL Glocks for a living in order to deliver tired, old (and technically incorrect) jokes.

Moi? I have an amazing sense of haha. But to some people, reading the word "irregardless" in someone's post is like waving a red cape in front of a bull. To others, it's calling something a "Glock 40."

Don't forget; I have seen that DEA video about 10,000 times, and every time I hear the word "Glock 40" I cringe because I know what is about to happen.

Actually, in retrospect, you are probably quite correct. When it comes to safety issues, I have no sense of haha. Don't you know? I was once called the most anal guy in Hollywood. My life reads like a Dos Equus commercial: The Winnipeg Free Press once did an article about my career entitled, "Number one with a bullet." The only time I have ever been shot was when Sir Ben Kingsley shot me twice, right after I threw a drink in his face in this little bar on Pembina Highway in Winnipeg. Robin Williams laughs at MY jokes.

(Dos Equus was even going to use me in their TV commercials until they found out that, a) all of the above is absolutely true; and, b) I am probably the most boring man on the face of the earth.)

Thankfully, I am able to disclose all this on an anonymous internet forum because no one knows my real name. I only use "Dave Brown" as a sign-on name. (Sadly, my real name is Dave Brown; I just don't have too much imagination picking out sign-on names.)

Hey ... I'm here all week. Be sure to tip your waitress.
