I wouldn't say that many students fail CDT. Certainly not all pass, but the majority make it through.

That's good to know. I think I'm in good shape and consider myself able to follow instructions. I'm glad its not one of those things designed to weed people out because of numbers. If you were to fail are you out of a job or is there some sort of alternative?

Loss of control of your tools is an automatic fail. We had a guy drop his OC.

A former SBSO said that they put you to work in an office, i believe.

Does anyone have any information of what an 8 day CDT training (in Mississauga) would be like?

Is it all gym stuff, or are there any written tests that are required?

Are there any suggestions on how to prepare for it physically? I've heard of people failing it instantly due to dropping a baton on the last day, etc.

Just any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

I'm sure every CDT question you could ask has been answered in one of the "Ask the CBSA" thread's 409 pages.
NO! I don't know when they're hiring dammit! No one does.

If you're in moderate shape, which really you should be if entering in to the law enforcement field (then again we should have a test to ensure this in our recruitment system...), then you have nothing to worry about with respect to the physical aspect of the training. There have never been any written tests in all my years, although there is scenario based training which you are evaluated on.

All of this information, and more, is likely found in the resource that Gadget mentioned.

Memorizing the IMIM, and reading >>this<< in its entirety would help.

To those who care ....

Do you have to be fit for CDT ? --- not really ... but it wud b handy for when they make you do pushups for punishment haha

Do people fail CDT ? --- Yes ... I did ( passed D2 but failed CDT ... ouch haha )

From what i know i was the only one who failed CDT in my intake (so it's rare) but I can also tell you guys i din't drop a tool neither did i hit any 1 with a "defensive" baton nor were my methods excessive !

I would hazard a guess that you also did poorly in the Creative Writing essay assignment.
