Oh I live for this stuff. We had a really good one here in BC based out of Langley in the mid 2000's called "Integra Security". I can't find their website anymore, but it was great. They had a section on their website where they recounted their "best moments", where in one instance I believe they took credit for an arrest and went as far as to say that the local police "assisted" them on it. They also had an "ERT Unit", which I believe they legitimately had a ballistic shield for. Drove your typical police cars, crown vics, SUVs, etc. To get hired they wanted you to run the PARE/POPAT. Good stuff. Every time I see a job posting for those provincial security program investigators, I am so tempted to apply so that I can deal with goombas like these guys. I'm all for a safe work environment for security workers, but there is a line.

There's a blast from the past  . The owner of that company, Phil Lacasse, actually joined Blue Line 10 years ago (and eventually got banned if I recall correctly) in a feeble attempt to defend his black & white patrol cars and other shenanigans. Make yourself a bowl of popcorn and enter his name and/or Integra Security in the search function on here then wile away the hours...

If I recall correctly (again) argyll, an erstwhile Blue Line member (former RCMP Depot instructor, then Saugeen Shores copper), put a word in someone's ear about the unauthorized use of the crown on Phil's logo. Funny thing, it mysteriously disappeared on subsequent vehicles  .

Oh, the shenanigans...

I wasn't aware that enforcement of using the crown was possible

Haha, there they are! Too bad their website isn't up anymore, I swear they had a ballistic shield. I had no idea the owner was on these forums... I just went through it all, that was better than I had expected. I would have been so embarrassed to work for that guy. He was pretty bold coming onto these forums and picking a fight with everyone.

I won't post the link here but there's a short thread on the PO only side from December 1, 2013 (you have access Chaser, just search "argyll" and "crown"). The gist of it was that The Governor General's office is supposed to enforce the use of the crown but I get the impression it's like the Private Investigators/Security Guards Act thing, they only act on complaints. That thread does make specific mention of Blue Knight Security though...

Which leads to an interesting rumour I heard about CP Police and their shoulder flash. When they introduced a Canadian flag on their flash a few years ago they also changed the crown from the British one to the Danish royal crown or some such other entity. From what I was told they didn't have authority use the British crown (of course, anyone in the know is free to correct me if I'm wrong).

But we're straying soooooo far away from ETF.... ;)

I thought that name sounded familiar. I actually found that picture of the decommissioned PC ages ago by accident on PoliceCanada.

I have been aware of Blue Knight Security for some time and am surprised it took this long for them to come up again on the public side; last time was 2010.

To be fair, as far as business goes, if you Google ETF security Toronto this thread shows up as the top result aside from paid sponsor results. ;)

 You think some prospecting clients who wants to review them might see why choosing ELITE would be a problem?
