Myths about policing?
Myths about policing?
What are some of the biggest myths you guys have come across?
Here's a good one: "For every arrest the police make, the station gets a bonus"

Drill at depot is hard
Ever listen to k billy's super sounds of the 70s?
"...if every time, Snot Boogie stole the money, why’d you let him play?
... Got to. It’s America, man."

So what's the deal with those traffic ticket "quotas" that explain why I'm more likely to get one near the end of the month?

There's no quotas! They can write as many as they want

It's not if you win or lose, but how you place the blame.

What about the state of the art technology homicide detectives use?

Lol
"Cops like to arrest people" - I'm sure you guys love the stack of paperwork that comes with it too no?
"All cops are jackasses that love to shoot people down and hand out tickets" - and yes, all members of the public are criminals.
It's such a shame this is what is being brought up in society.

Don't forget the "police state" and "brutality"
All this BS until they need help. Then, all is forgotten for the time being.
... For the Grammar Police, get off my back, I wasn't born here.
Re: Myths about policing?
I was always told that "for 5 minutes of action, there's at least 45 minutes of paperwork" by a few officers.
I didn't believe it until I was with an officer during an event, him and I carried out a drunk, aggressive, male who eventually got cuffed and put in the wagon.
I spent the next 45 minutes in his cruiser while he typed up the report.
Myth.. Confirmed...

Used to figure the time required to process an impaired....from first stop to the completed RCC would take about 8 hours. That is assuming there were no complicating factors like a MVI attached. Court time was extra.

8 hours would be the high point, if it's a straight to the point impaired, from stop to court packages done and in for review, 3-4 hours. If not bothered by anything else lol...which never happens.

With video (and entire file) quadruplication? That is what we did on F1907 - Crown, Defence, Court Liaison / Detachment covering scene (even if Municipal PS area) plus our Unit back-up / review. We made a Master file containing the sealed envelope with original QT documents that we sent to the Det.
