Homolka isn't writing the book, however. It's this Paula Todd person who dug all this up. Sounds to me someone is obsessed with Homolka and that person stands to profit from it. Me, I could care less about Karla. She did her time according to the deal. She left the country. Good riddance. I'm not loosing any sleep over her.

Fortunately I think most Canadians don't feel that way. Especially in Southern Ontario, people remain outraged to this day over "her time according to the deal".

Three girls were raped and killed and Homolka's now living on a Caribbean island with her children and family. I hope Canadians never forget and never lose their outrage. It's the only chance we have for fixing our system.

I'm from Southern Ontario. While at the time I didn't agree with "the deal", it's done. I have bigger things on my plate to worry or fuss over. Maybe a nice tropical storm might take care of the problem. Karma is funny that way. :smirk:

POS that scumbag is. I couldn't fathom getting crossed out by my own co-workers

Myself and everyone at my company sent him and the other victims condolences. Wish him all the best.

Stumbled across some CBC interviews and articles about the lone survivor of the incident, Matthew SCHUMAN.

(1) The first link takes you to a time line through his recovery.
(2) The second link takes you to a video interview with Mr. SCHUMAN speaking about his recovery.

This man should be an inspiration to all of us. Relearning simple things in life doesn't seem to be any obstacle for this man. There is no reason any of us should say "I can't" in our privileged lives.

Baumgartner pleaded guilty today in court. The crown and defense have jointly submitted life in prison with no chance of parole for forty years. This potential president setting sentence will be delivered on Wednesday. A fifteen page Agreed Statement of Facts (ASF) was made available to the public after the guilty pleas. The ASF also details an undercover RCMP operation.

This incident struck very close to home for me, I lived within five minutes of the shooting, and had many friends working that night shift when this occurred and responded to the incident. Reading some of the officers first hand accounts of the scene in the ASF gave me goosebumps. A thank you to all of the multiple agency's and officers that were involved in this investigation, their effort allowed a quick resolution.

The next time that POS will have a remote chance at leaving a penitentiary will be when my oldest kid is hitting his 30s.

Good riddance.

Finally, something representing a real sentence in Canada. With no chance of parole for 40 years, hopefully he opts for the Ariel Casto solution.
