Re: Mississauga Transit Enforcement
There has been some comments made about how Metrolinx has been floundering somewhat and that for all intent and purpose it will die a quiet death. I for one do not believe that and find it very interesting that Bruce McCuaig, who was Deputy Minister of Transportation for the Ontario Government, is now the new President and CEO of Metrolinx.
By 2013 the Mississauga Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor, part of the Metrolinx plan, is expected to be completed. Metrolinx is forging ahead and at some point people will wake up one morning and discover a mega transit system in Ontario.
Merging happens all the time and it happens a lot more frequent than people realize. There is a very good chance that transit systems will partner then merge in time. Governments at municipal, provincial and at the federal level want public transit to be used more for a host of reasons. There will be more of a push to come and a lot more money pumped into mass public transit.
McMaster University in Hamilton partnered with GO and a bus terminal was built on the campus. It gets used by a growing number of people. GO training will be extending their route into the Niagara region. GO/Metrolinx ....get used to seen more. At some point the safety and security of this growing system will be considered a higher priority. Food for thought.

To alleviate some of the pressure on municipal forces by dealing with (and just to reiterate, not bashing anyone and not getting into what mundane is to you) the mundane issues that don't always need Police intervention. It seems ridiculous to me that a city of Mississauga's size has not made a push to have their transit enforcement sworn in a Specials.
It is my understanding that Mississauga Transit Enforcement did apply for special constable status but were turned down because they did not have enough officers to qualify. They just hired new people recently and apparently they only accept applicants that can qualify for special constable status so they are apparently planning to go for it again.

You mean Ursula Keuper-Bennett, journalists, that keeps posing beside the Mississauga Transit Enforcement vehicles with promotional banners and the like for "special constable" status. Don't know what her real motive is but she seems to be quite alone in this. Certainly the drive for status is not a priority in the real circles within Mississauga government.

She is actually a published author. It just makes me wonder what her actual agenda is with Mississauga Transit or more precisely, Mississauga as a whole. She seems to be fixated on the "workings" on Mississauga.

She has a major problem with Mississauga Corporate Security because she used to cause disruptions during council meetings and has been escorted out of City Hall many times. She was finally banned from the property. She has also been closely associated with Donald Barber who has had similar run-ins with MCS was also banned. Barber recently embarrassed himself in the media by demanding that Hazel McCallion provide proof that she is medical fit and mentally competent to run for mayor. Even his own supporters thought that was out of line. Bennett is also running for mayor in the upcoming election.

That's the part I find so bizarre, she has a huge hate on for Mississauga Corp Sec, but yet she's all pro special constable status for Mississauga Transit.

She's not really known for her rational thinking. She's pro-LE but she tried to stir up shit here a couple of years ago and very quickly got banned.

Because in her view special constables would come under the police and not City Hall as directly as Corporate Security does.

I'm surprised old Hazel hasn't bopped Barber on the nose just to demonstrate her level of fitness. Gotta be tough when an old doll like that keeps winning the pissing contest!

And just for the record, This sh@t head in the video is a GIANT pain in the ass. I have arrested him on multiple occasions and he has been a complete douchebag every time I have dealt with him.

That was easily one of the most annoying videos I've ever had to sit through. Someone should have spent less time putting text on the screen and more learning how to focus properly.
