Re: Ask the CBSA!

Me too, and in the same boat as you, Drache. The travel to Van is just one more hurdle to cross, I guess. What area are you from, Drache? I'm in the Kootenays, and was told the closest interview area is Castlegar (occasionally). No idea how many applicants from this area, so I may just make the tri...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Is anyone here going through the recruiting process in BC? I've read a fair few posts about people from Ontario and am curious. I'm in the pool for a lower mainland position and am at the 1st aid/firearms/psych evaluation stage and have been advised to keep waiting until I am offered a seat in Riga...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Ok I finally contacted the CBSA and asked when an interview MIGHT be held in my area and was told that since Im the only one in my area awaiting an interview, it's not going to happen. If I wanted an interview I'd have to drive down to Vancouver where they are holding interviews "daily". I...

Re: Civilian equivalent to the Px4 Storm?

Now you're just engaging in verbal gymnastics. Unless you are a Collector, Armed Security Guard or Hunting Guide, a citizen must belong to a club and possess an ATT. There has NEVER been an issuance of a Restricted firearms PAL to ANYONE who does not meet the aforementioned criteria since the Act's...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Actually Fraser is in the top 10 land borders in the Pacific Region for volume...they clear 200,000+ per year. I didn't mean in number of people per year, I meant the "town" itself! It has no permanent residents or businesses. A Canada Border Services Agency port of entry is located here,...

Fraser is almost as bad as Pleasant Camp. Beaver Creek and Stewart at least are big enough to have businesses. Osoyoos I think is the best one with Kingsgate being a second.

Re: Civilian equivalent to the Px4 Storm?

Thanks for the backup, I too thought it was pretty common knowledge, that for a few extra mm you can have the same firearm. Hell one page back I even posted a picture of a restricted Px4 that is being sold (not by me) so unless there are MAJOR differences than just a couple extra MM of barrel what ...

You're like the rest of us, you wanted to be VanB or Gard, but have to settle for CBS-EH

Actually I'm not lying when I was little one of my dad's friends worked for the CBSA and for some reason I just thought the job was "cool". :((

Re: Civilian equivalent to the Px4 Storm?

Nope, the CBSA issue PX4 Storm is prohibited as already stated by the fine folks who actually work for the CBSA, carry the sidearm, and as far as I am aware, know a thing or two about firearms importation. I would tell you why you're wrong, but I don't feel like researching somebody else's mistake ...

Everyone is telling me that the RCMP and other Federal Law Enforcement and such have no legal authority on Reservations and can only go onto them with permission from the people on the Reservation themselves (council, chief, o...
