Re: Toronto Police - Modernization Changes
There is a lot in there that does make an awful lot of sense TBH. I like the alternative service delivery and prioritizing call response subheadings. This shows they recognize that Police are increasingly responding to things that are simply not policing issues. This is a HUGE waste of frontline res...

Re: New look for the Toronto PS
On a similar note: Many fire services have changed their trucks to a bright yellow colour, as it stands out better in night-time traffic vs the classic fire truck red. Hydrants too are slowly being change from red to yellow, sometimes with a high visibility blue reflector. They flip-flop with the &...

Re: New look for the Toronto PS
http://www.citynews.ca/2016/09/07/exclusive-toronto-police-cruisers-becoming-more-stealth-like/ I just about spit out my rye and coke watching the news last night when they interviewed some moron at 50 seconds in. Unbe-friggin-lievable. Some people should not be allowed to wander the streets withou...

Re: New look for the Toronto PS
I feel like this was an ordering error. Someone in procurement wanted "100" grey cars and accidentally typed "1000" and now they're making the best of it.
"Stealth cars" with giant red/blue lightbars on the top hardly makes much sense.

Re: Buying 511 Pants at reasonable price in Canada
How's the pen? Hated it. Brought it back and traded it for a pair of Taclite TDU pants for work. As far as 5.11 pants go I own all four of the most popular styles. If anyone cares here are my thoughts on them: Stryke - Great for everyday/hiking/range. I wear them more often than not on my days off....

Re: Police... aren't people.
Hate coppers until you need a copper and then it's "why can't they catch this guy?" or "why didn't you come guns blazing to save me"? It's pathetic. I will never understand why the media, politicians, and certain groups want to make violent criminals into some sort of heroes. Cop...

Re: Buying 511 Pants at reasonable price in Canada
After a couple of trips to "Fundy Tactical" I'd recommend them for in-Canada purchases of 5.11 gear. After exchange and factoring in shipping, fuel, and per-package costing at a US address the prices are very comparable. The staff are nice and the stores have a lot of stock - which helps f...

Re: Gun Control Vs. Criminal Control
The bottom line is that laws directed at law abiding gun owners do nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, to stop criminals from possessing, carrying, and using illegal firearms. Putting more onerous laws upon people who already are screened and obey laws does nothing but provide a "placebo&qu...

Re: Gun Control Vs. Criminal Control
Day to day how much time and energy is really being spent by street cops on FA issues involving licence gun owners..? My guess... Not much. Most of the "crimes" licensed gun owners commit are victimless, paper offenses. I've never known ANYONE arrested for forgetting their ATT or neglecti...

Jeep has the new Cherokee....which I actually think looks pretty cool in the "Trailhawk" flavour.

Re: Thoughts on this?
If groups like BLM were truly concerned about preventing conflicts between police and their community they would try to act as a liaison between the two "sides". They'd put forth positive interactions with police, rather than the exclusionary methods they have been employing. Damn right D...

WANTED - OPP flashes
Hey all,
Looking to get my hands on a number of OPP flashes for use on duty bags etc. I couldn't get any additional from QM. I am willing to trade my old issue CBSA flashes (got a ton of them) and some others for them. I'll take any you've got (regular, subdued, OD, etc).
Thanks all!

On a similar topic..... Anyone order any of these from CP gear? m I have been wearing my vest internally, and I find that my medal ribbon keeps popping off all of the time. Re: Buying 511 Pants at reasonable price in Canada
I also find it a bit nuts that I buy shirts, pants, and have to kick in for boots too to get ones that last anywhere near the 2 years. It is truly asinine. 90% of my kit is personally purchased because the Agency either can't provide me with the kit or they simply don't want to issue us certain pie...
