Re: CBSA Boots?

Remember that before they went to the 2 year policy, the annual amount was only $125. $225/year is pretty good I figure. Before we went into the 2 year thing in my region the annual thing was to go to Work Authority and get a pair of boots off of the approved list. Most people got either Magnum or ...

Re: CBSA Boots?

So a couple of updates here: - They've changed the boot policy. As previously stated side zippers are now authorized across the board. They have lowered the two year life cycle of boots to a more realistic one year life cycle. Unfortunately they have lowered the allowance from $250 to $225. I realiz...

Agreed. You can use hand sanitizer and/or soap on them to disinfect them too.

Re: Puncture/Slash Resistant Gloves

Stay away from Oakley "Assault Gloves" apparently: m I wear them searching shipments because they protect my knuckles but will only wear agency/force issued protective Kevlar gloves for arrests or use of force situations due to both being WSIB protected and legally protected by wearing pro...

Re: CBSA Boots?

I decided on the 5.11 ATAC shield. Out of all the options these were most comfortable and I've worn 5.11s for years. The danner boots with zippers get terrible reviews . Just goes to show that all opinions are like..... well you know! I love my zippered Danners!!! Yeah I hear ya! I've read on a num...

Re: CBSA Boots?

I'm confused as to what the big draw is with side-zips boots for duty use. I'd be willing to guess that the failures that people are talking about here aren't during moments of strenuous exertion (for the most part) so why even roll the dice with it when the worst possible time for a failure is whe...

Re: CBSA Boots?

Was reading the Uniform Program wiki page yesterday and saw an interesting post. A uniform clerk out of BC posted that she got notified that side zips are now permitted! I must now find the appropriate section to attach to my new boot form so I get compensated. Finally work will pay for a pair of 5...

Re: Your opinion - By-law/MLEO Uniforms, PPE and Vehicles

Forget taking someone into custody even, just the basic ability to have an option to protect oneself from assault. The same armed violent criminals and persons with potentially violent mental health issues that walk the streets of Toronto also ride the TTC, YRT, GO, etc. Special Constables, Fare Ins...
