Re: What Certifications Should I Look Into?
I enjoyed my criminology education. learning the sociological and psychological explanations of crime that can directly relate to front line policing. Might even make you look like an all star if you able to capitalize on that with your superiors; However, as stated before there is a lot of B.S that...

Re: Vancouver Police Department or Calgary Police Service
In my opinion I would apply to both and see which one offers you a job. Edmonton would also be a good office to consider as it is also well funded.

Well done! Congratulations, its a big hurdle to overcome! But just because you passed the PARE doesn't mean you can stop training! Keep up the good work.

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT
Does anybody know what regions are in highest demand? Or how they determine who gets assigned to a marine unit etc? From the lists I saw in Rigaud, Prairie Region usually has the most seats. As for marine units, you can get into Vancouver marine right out of Rigaud. In order to get a marine unit ri...

Re: Ask the CBSA!
Hey guys, This seems like a really dumb question but does the CBSA actually do border patrol along the border? or does the CBSA just do POE's and inland stuff? I was browsing job listings and saw that a Border Services Officer and a Border Patrol Officer were paid differently.I never seem to see CBS...

Re: Purchase of surplus ex-police/government vehicles
If you can stumble across a non-police government vehicle you'd be lucky. Example: Sheriff's vehicles are maintained extremely well, and driven slowly and retired after around 125,000k. I'd argue they are looked after better then my car lol. Ex-RCMP cars are beyond rat-bagged for the most part, so e...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT
Thanks for the information,
Very much appreciated. I've already moved away once for a law enforcement job, did 3 years way up north and I'm crossing my fingers I don't have to do it again! Granted, I signed on the dotted line and I'm prepared to do what I have to do!

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT
+1 to the transfers question.
Anyone have any idea how that process works? Say your in Manitoba and want to get posted to Toronto or Vancouver?
Its probably been discussed prior, but if anyone has any recent info it would be greatly appreciated!
