Re: Hired!

Hi guys I was sworn in today as a provincial correctional officer! I am very nervous but excited for this next step in my life! I would still rather be a police officer but that will have to wait until a later date! Also, Fonthill, I hope you're reading this! I couldn't help but think of you and yo...

Re: *** ASK AN ONTARIO RCMP RECRUITER ***

On Average, does having a federal security clearance already with another organization speed up the time for the RCMP Clearance Process?

Kind Regards,

Re: Ask A BC Sheriff

In my SRT class, people who failed the firearms weren't issued their pistol and had to carry around a red gun in the meantime while the rest of us hand the real deal. The instructors will do everything they can to help you succeed. If you failed a test, you would have to go in before class or after ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

When I applied for another law enforcement agency, I hired an interview coach. He helped me to articulate information on my competencies I didn't think of before. He is an ex-fire chief who hired members for his district and this is his retirement gig. Might help to look into that, even if it is jus...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

I got my invite to OITP a couple months back now. Did the online training and am waiting to go to Riguad. All classes were canceled due to the rona. I was informed that I will be given two weeks notice prior to the class start and until then use what ever government supports were available. Luckily ...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

I started my application in 2016, and just finally got the call. Some people were one and done, inside of a year and a half. I don't think it hurts to send off a check in e-mail once every couple months. It can take a really.. really long time dude.

Just my opinion though.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Did they mention anything about Depot Dates due to the corona after your clearance was done? I'm on a similar timeline as you, and I am in the middle of my backround. I was accepted to another federal agency and was told the academy is postponed until this thing blows over. Kind of a blessing in dis...

Re: BC Sheriff Service to police

Lots of people use B.C Sheriff's as a stepping stone to go on to policing. It looks good on a resume, and its also a great career if you decide to stay with them. You will learn a lot at the JI that will translate over to your career as a police officer. Obviously there's ton's that police do that t...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Hey All,

I was in OITP 15D as well, scheduled to attend Riguad in April. Finished the online training, and was ready to go when we were hit by the Covid 19. Class is postponed until further notice. Luckily I still have employment in the government sector but I know not all of us were so lucky.
