Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the forum but I have a question about my RCMP application. I took my polygraph last week and I have a followup conversation soon to discuss my results. The phone call is with a recruiting civilian investigator... is that normal? I was under the impression that the recrui...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/how-to-apply It's true. I wonder how many more people they'll be sending home from Depot for failing their first ever PARE? ^^^this^^^ Plus some other changes. m Apparently the Cooper Run (2.4k) is gone at Depot. Yes 5k and 8K still on. Hey, I looked at that link but ca...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
The Police Academy at JIBC is roughly $10k. VPD makes reference to recruits being potentially able to qualify for loans through the Vancouver Police Credit Union, so it's not just eastern forces that pay their own training. It helps when you're paid from day 1 though! Edited to add that other BC mun...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Believe it or not applicants without kids also struggle with relocation, and it matters to single applicants to leave their families and friends too. Your spouse needs to be 100% on board or you're in for a rough ride. Some spouses stay behind for a while to let kids finish a school term or to maint...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Does Audio and Visual need to be completed before you submit your online application? Does anyone know if Ontario applicants could possibly ever get their first post in Ontario? Thanks guys It's unlikely but possible. If you want to be in Ontario for certain, apply OPP. And yes, do your hearing and...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Regarding medical, I've completed my labs/check X-ray/ECG a bit over a month ago. To complete the physical portion will I be contacted (by health services or my FC?)?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Unbelievable.
I'll be curious to see how they evaluate the competencies in other stages of the application (as they mention on the website).

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Yikes! Delaying the PARE until depot would mean some applicants being in terrible shape. Right now, the PARE is near the middle of the process (not needed to apply, but needed after the RMSI and well before bg check and Depot offer). I like that the RMSI and Poly are same day, should help expedite ...

That will make for a very long day. I also had to go to completely different locations for my RMSI and poly. Interesting to see how much the process has morphed even over the last 6 months!

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Just wondering if anyone here has applied; since the introduction of the entrance exam exemption if you have a 4 year degree. More specifically, I was wondering if you have; does the process go much quicker? I have my degree and applied after the introduction of the RPAB exemption. It's hard to say...

Re: BC Corrections
The 6 week training packs a lot in, but they set you up to do well. Come prepared each day and you should have no problem.
As for being hired on-call -- I'll say this, working on call is tough on your personal life. Especially if that drags on for a few years...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Just got in from my polygraph examination. Overall it was a good experience and the examiner was very professional and laid out exactly how the day was going to go. The machine triggered a response on one of the questions even though I was 100% truthful. Really hoping this was just an anomaly and e...

That's great news!
Can I ask how long it was between your PEP and finding out you passed?
