Re: Am I wasting my time and money?

Agreed, Devil!

I am in similar position. I don't want to wake up when I'm 70 and think: "Why didn't I try?!"
It would be the biggest mistake ever.

Re: Ask A BC Sheriff

Question about LPI

There's 2 parts, JIBC says I need a level 6, LPI only shows that for the essay, should my focus be more on that?

Re: Ask a Sheriff

Are you applying for Alberta as well as BCSS?

I'm trying to go directly into BCSS. If I can't, I'd attempt to get my foot in the door with Corrections first. BC is always looking for CO's. My friend works for North Fraser, he's ALWAYS telling me to apply.

Re: Ask A BC Sheriff

That's difficult. I visited some Sheriff's at the provincial courts. Ask around, they're extremely helpful!
Otherwise just apply as soon as you have all your documents together.. That's my route.

Re: Brinks vs Garda (G4S) to work for

I work with GW guards that don't wear their vests. They're all super dinosaurs, been doing it for 25+ years.. Today something could go bad for them. To each their own. I money handle but as an ATM technician, I don't have protection. I don't really think about it.. Going back to topic, go with GW. I...

Thankfully, the JIBC site has been getting much needed updates. I can only hope they continue to do so.

Re: Ask a Sheriff

I noticed that the updated JIBC site says that if you don't make it at least 2 years, you have to repay the tuition.
Why is that?
Is it a high turn over rate??
