Re: BC Corrections

We ran our COPAT's this week. I did pretty good. From what I heard from the previous slot, many failed. The COPAT is no joke. People reading this in the process about to do their COPAT's take it seriously and specifically train for it. Run/Sprint/Burpees/Situps.. Lots and lots and lots. You don't h...

Re: BC Corrections

Hi, just saw your signature, "Royal Canadian Marine Search & Rescue", I assume you are also a Canada Coast Guard Auxiliary member just like most of the other Marine S&R organizations' member. :D I was a former Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary member with PARA (Pickering Auxiliary Rescue Association)....

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I'm not sure how long the process takes, and I know it's different for everyone. But it's getting ridiculous now. I started the process back in June 2018, it's been well over 2 years now, and I understand COVID is delaying the process, but it's ridiculous now, and it's frustrating how CSC doesn't c...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Just wondering if anyone knows what's going on with CTP's, have they restarted? Any new ones starting up? Where are they running them? I heard PEI and Kingston, but I also heard rumors of possibly running them at the Institutions to save having to pre and post quarantine. Asking for a friend. Thank...

Re: Fisheries Officer (DFO)

Hello, I am interested in applying online and I understand a new class is about to start back up at Depot. Curious if anybody knows if the DFO will be hiring more officers in 2020/2021? Or if the 100 officers to be hired in 2018-2019 has been reached and there will be a hiring freeze. Thanks! My un...

Glad to see the application process is speeding up again. Can't wait for the new class to come over, so that I can potentially be on the 4 on 4. LOL
Might be waiting a little while. A few of us are waiting for COPAT dates.

Re: BC Corrections

Nuke.. Just be honest. They found something on my SSQ and contacted me about it. I was honest and forthcoming and definitely didn't try to dodge the question. They told me that they moved my application forward. Just waiting for a potential COPAT date. I really hope there's a lot of OT because the f...

Re: Ask A BC Sheriff

Hey folks, Thank you for the response. Sierra, I'm really happy to hear that you went from BCCO to Sheriffs. In CSC, that 3 strike rule really messed with me. Being in Kingston, far from home. My fear of failure became the reason I failed. That and the 40+ degree weather during a heatwave on the ran...

Re: Ask A BC Sheriff

Thx for your reply. I’m not super worried about the pistol specifically. It’s the academic stuff i have difficulties with. Every test i took in the academy, i was pretty much panicked. Buuutt it’s probably because i live in bc and was in Ontario. I’m really looking forward to the training. Gotta get...
