Re: Science majors in the force?

@ATR

Agree.
However, it appears that in today's Policing education in viewed as more important than life experience, volunteering and the 'know how'.

Re: Do LEOs value Security personel?

I'd like to add.....the property you "protect", regardless if you're a LPO, site officer or do mobile alarm response is INSURED. It can be replaced. Ones life and health can not. Sure its called life insurance! Wait, Maybe thats why my wife keeps encouraging me to take risks...... Lol.

Re: Recent Alberta tragedy.

It is sad actually, leaving an Aux or any other member on their own to deal with shit after being shot and/or traumatized is pretty low and pathetic. Taking all to account, I am not surprised members jump ship by the "dozens". In fact, some agencies are holding off on accepting recruit app...

Re: Recent Alberta tragedy.

I have found an interesting tweet on tweeter today. Then I reasearched and found the post itself. m So terrible to learn that after putting his life on the line and being shot and wounded... Dereck was left alone. I believe, this is Derek's response to a post about the Wynn's Law. Derek Bond This tr...

Re: EDiv A/Cst's petition to Minister of Public Safety

Some won't need much training... "Well we have just heard hear in D division that Manitoba will recognize only teir 1 for us. We're supposed to wear golf shirts and civilian pants now. As I read in the email that the kits are available but no pictures yet. All I have to say is that we've waited...

Re: EDiv A/Cst's petition to Minister of Public Safety

I actually wouldn't mind the Peace Officer patch. But, as far as I know, no set in stone decisions about the uniform were made yet... so not sure where his comment came from.. "Pelley was recently at a conference where the topic of auxiliary police officers was discussed and said he is hoping t...

Re: EDiv A/Cst's petition to Minister of Public Safety

Last I heard that the restrictions imposed on Auxiliary Constables won't affect City operations or costs of Community Events. Re: NIGHTSTICK NSP-1170

I use the NSR 2070 which is rechargeable, I believe the NSP 1170 uses AA battery cells? I have never had any issues with it. The charge lasts for whatever I use it for. They claim 7.5 hours as a regular flashlight and 4 hours in the red/blue strobe mode on a single charge but I can't comment on this...

Re: NIGHTSTICK NSP-1170

The version I had was the 1st generation (older) of the nightstick flashlight, with 1 button. The newer version (in photo) has two buttons. If it's better quality, let me know. I've seen a few TPS members carrying them on the front of their vests. I ordered from MDCharlton had it on sale surprising...

Re: RCMP Uniform

Does anyone know who the manufacturer of the current design of the high vis lime green jacket is? I know stores issue them but who makes the jacket itself. With bunch of emails out and tone of research I just found out who has contract on the RCMP Motorcycle gear kit (I'm in contact with) , but sti...

Not exactly, however it hosts bunch of BC Ministries. But, it shouldn't matter what type of building it is.
Police were dispatched too and arrived not even 30 seconds after the other guys.

Re: Do LEOs value Security personel?

To the two security guys that responded to a silent panic alarm today AM at the Deputy Regional Crown Counsel's personal office.
