Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
There's no rush. Being 15 weeks in and my only advice is to enjoy the time you have with you family. It sure takes a toll. And be fit! I lost 3 people in less than a month on failing physical benchmarks alone, and there was another troop that had 6 people that failed the PARE on the first week! (Ob...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Anyone doing the total opposite of training and letting their body rest up and heal while the gyms as are closed and everyone is staying inside for the most part? Work long shifts (essential service), have a stupid long commute, and for that reason I have a full gym in my garage (rack, bars, weight...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
My finger print appointment was cancelled due to covid 19, I was told to try and make another appointment in a couple weeks. Pretty weird to cancel the fingerprinting... isn't it just you and 1 officer doing fingerprinting? Yep. I have no desire to stand that close to someone if I don’t have to. I ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
I know I am going to come off as the grumpy old man shaking fist at clouds, but I am tired of these types of posts. Its too cold, its too hot, Elsa, the Grinch, some other fictitious character being arrested...its all be done. You're not coming off as a grumpy old man, I am in my twenties and even ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Hi guys, I have a question about parades at depot. I understand that there is a morning parade every day of the week and a sergeant major parade few days a week a noon. Do all troops have to do the parade every day or there is some kind of rotation ? thanks Rotation. From what I remember, 12 for mo...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
I've been looking at a possibility of a LDP, now I am wondering is this something you can choose or does staffing offer it to you. What are the plus sides of the limited duration post? What are the negative sides. I've discussed it with my wife and she isn't opposed to it. Again, when you are at De...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
If anyone can elaborate on this, would appreciate it. Once you graduate and given your posting. 1) How much time are you given to find a place to rent. Is moving cost covered. Is there any financial incentives towards your rent for the first year. From what I've read, you are sometimes given a coup...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
Congratulations! I totally forget, do they tell you where you're going to get posted or is it after Depot graduation. You'll know a few weeks before grad. You'll have an interview with staffing first. Thank you! Do you mind elaborating on the interview part? Do they ask you where you want to be pos...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT
In regard to listing all of my immediate family, is EVERY family member required? My mom alone has 12 siblings (therefore I have a huge amount of family members through her), however 75% of them I have no memory of ever even meeting them before in my life, and such I have not had any contact or hav...

It’s quiet hours til 5am, and pending on the day you either have morning parade at 630ish or breakfast at that time. Plus you need your pit ready for possible inspections.

Re: RCMP VS CAF
Thanks a lot. I know it’s a tough choice and eventually it’s me making the decision, it’s just I’m not sure about the unpredictable future. If I were to turn down the offer from CAF, I’d have to start over again in case I wanted to get back in. And with RCMP, the selection process feels like foreve...

Re: Toronto Police Service
Hello everyone, I currently have my application in with TPS. I passed the ECI/LFI. I haven't received a call for the written and psychology portion. But the question is can anyone give me insight on the Written portion and what it entails?? https://academic.oup.com/occmed/article/59/2/135/1387433
