Re: Hi there, newb here.

There is regular PT at OPC. At the OPP Academy, the PT is ramped up quite a bit. I wouldn't say it's boot camp style, but it is certainly designed to push you beyond your comfort zone. I am not going to say anything specific about the program though. It's fun and practical and I puked a couple of t...

Re: Park Warden Question?

Does MNR hire gov park wardens on part time basis ? Or do they give full time spots too Depends on the park. I'd say the bulk majority of positions are Fulltime Seasonal (40 hours a week for 4-6 months of the year). Some of the bigger parks will hire Wardens for part-time work where you'll work eve...

Re: Park Warden Question?

I can confirm that Crossfit is 100% correct, there is no legislative difference between contract and MNR staffed positions. The only difference is the fact that the pay is a mere fraction of government wages. A regular MNR warden currently makes between 21 and 23 an hour. The contract guys tend to m...

Re: NAPS prisoner transport

Keep in mind that 20 dollars an hour in Cochrane, Ontario will go a lot further than 20 dollars an hour in Toronto or Vancouver.

Re: Toronto Police Officer Stabbed in Traffic Stop

What a sad state of affairs for society when people make comments like that. More than just a police officer, this guy is a person who likely has a wife and kids, to wish death on him over the internet is cowardly and pathetic. Of course he'll be the first to call 911 when he feels someone has wrong...

Re: Mississauga Parking Enforcement...

A Bylaw officer is a peace officer only when enforcing a bylaw. So they are just citizens until they begin writing the parking ticket and then while writing/placing it on a windshield they are a PO, as soon as the ticket is placed on the car, they are back to being citizens..... Clear as mud? hahaha

Re: Woman charged with making gesture at cop

See I don't agree with writing someone up who gives you the finger after a ticket. To me, you are now taking it personally instead of professionally. I'd say at least half the tickets I write come with them making a remark about how I'm an asshole or a dick, they're just normal people who are peeved...
