Chambo: A couple rules that have served me well in this regard... I'm careful about who I hang around with. I'm even more careful about who I discuss my job with. In fact, I don't even tell sttrangers what I do for a living. When on vacation, I'm either a Marine Biologist of an Architect depending ...

I'll be applying, it's not my dream job by any stretch, but that salary is pretty attractive.

You know, I've grown up in this area my entire life and I still don't know why we call it a mountain.

Business as usual... I don't see any changes coming, things have existed this way for decades and this bump will fade and things will continue.

Re: Oshawa MLEO
I know a guy with a bigger city and he has a cool job, he does undercover stings at rub and tug parlors, strip clubs etc. looking for business license violations. Unarmed strip club stings? Most of those aren't owned by your typical white collar businessman. Yea, but it's fine, I really don't think...

Re: Oshawa MLEO
Well that could be said for anything in LE man. All jobs in this field are pretty much a crap shoot and involve a combination of hard work, education, experience and a lot of luck.

Salary Range: Hourly Rates: $33.34 - $35.30 - $37.16 I'm shocked at what some of these by law guys make. At 37/hr it's more than what Correctional Officers, Customs Officers, and Special Constables make hourly. Working for cities is lucrative. All positions. City of Mississauga pays fantastic as do...

Re: Park Warden Question?
All MNR Park Wardens I have ever seen looked 20. I saw a lot of young guys wearing the Park Wardens uniform. Since they have all the authority of an OPP officer I think that's a lot of blanket authority given to the Wardens. Not that they should not have it, but I think the standards for the positi...

I can confirm that Crossfit is 100% correct, there is no legislative difference between contract and MNR staffed positions. The only difference is the fact that the pay is a mere fraction of government wages. There may be one difference besides pay. Since I've been out of the game for a while, perh...
