Re: Best fitness website

I've been doing Cross Fit for over 1.5 years and its far above anything else I had done for the 10 years leading up. I've looked at the Navy Seal and other military workouts and they look good. But, they are only good at body weight exercises and running/swimming; these workouts also take a long tim...

Re: Policing Different Areas

Small detachment 2-10 members. There seems to be a slower call to call pace. There is more time to fully investigate files. More time in the office. You will get to know more people in the community and the community will get to know you. You will be called on to do EVERYTHING. There is no file too ...

Re: How hard is Depot?

NOTHING at Depot is "HARD." It doesn't matter how you are when you enter Depot. Everything you have to do at depot can be done if you are Menatly Tough. There will be late nights, early mornings, long runs, lots of yelling, mind games, failed testing in one area or another, physical pain, ...

Re: DEPOT - Family, and leaving to visit family .. etc

If you can, give yourself the first four weeks before you fly your wife out. That first month is needed to get accustomed to depot life and being around your troopmates. Use a cell phone with a long distance plan or a pay phone with calling cards (lots of pay phones at depot) to call every night. Wr...

Re: Suggestions for a dumbell routine

If you go to Crossfit.com most of the olympic bar lifts can be substituted with dumbells. The grip will not be the same and you will need lower weights but you can still do most of the lifts they prescribe. Find something to do chinups/pull ups on and you are ready to go. If you follow the Crossfit ...

Re: What is DEPOT like?

I forgot to mention, pretty much everyone (single/married/shacked up/or looking) will take off for the bar across the road or another local eating and/or drinking establishment on Friday and Saturday nights - Just don't get in fights with the locals. We had a few times where local boys wanted to sta...

Re: What is DEPOT like?

I got out of Depot around 18 months ago. Yes, you can pretty much do whatever you want on the weekends. BUT, you will not have too many weekends where you are not busy with projects, homework, volunteering, practicing PT/PDT/Firearms/driving/drill etc. It seems like there is a lot of stuff to go ove...

Re: Duty Suspenders

I first started with break away suspenders as I didn't want some rat pulling me around. The break away suspenders will break away just from the weight of a fully loaded duty belt; running after a rat makes the unexpected break away happen even sooner as the duty belt bounces around. I bought a cheap...

To Serve and Protect

Anyone out there know if there are any seasons for sale or what stations play To Serve and Protect in BC? Yes, I know it's corny, but some times you just have the urge to grab a couple cobs and start munching:)
