Re: How does LE affect family life?

Rarely to I meet a boss that isn't stressed all day and rarely do I meet a CFL that is stressed all day.

Re: BC Sherrif's, cheap Highway cops?

I think when it comes to the term "specialist", many people are trying to make themselves feel justified in their chosen path. You could argue that every single section in the police universe, other than general duty, is therefore a "specialist" position as that is all you concen...

Re: BC Sherrif's, cheap Highway cops?

There will be nothing I would rather do than come to the aid of some sherrif who can't do his criminal investigation. I'd rather have the highway police officer take care of his entire file on his own with my only input as back up. On another point, where I work, highway members rove in groups aroun...

Re: What Brand or model would recommend

I took my 9mm and shotgun to the range at least once a week. I didn't want ot pay the range fees so I just went into the woods and practiced on the trees. I brought a DVD video to my interview with my shooting skills and driving skills. I had to get a buddy to film my shooting and driving, but it pa...

Re: RCMP promotions

Nothing like fucking over they guys you watch over so you can look like an all star. I can count on two hands the number of good (looking out for thier guys AND doing real police work) NCOs and there is no way I could try and count all the loser NCOs I've been around that only worry about climbing t...

Re: ERT Posters - David Eby's not a fan, what do you think?

I've heard more of him lately. He's not helping calm the hatred toward the RCMP in BC right now. You can't talk to anyone with out them telling you how much YOU screwed up in the past while............. time for a new province, this one's getting to be too much of a hippie comune.

Re: Hanwag Boots

I don't think most local cobblers can re-sole boots where the sole is stitched from the inside. I could be wrong though........I'm not a cobbler.

Re: Question for RCMP members about cleaning pants.

Where we work, a lot of guys wash on a regualr cycle of warm water and then hang dry the pants as soon as the wash is done. I dry cleaned for the first year I was here, but before half way through the shift the pants were always dirty. I watch the crease and if it starts to fade I run the iron over ...

Bratzer, gonna store your pot in that bag so you can stop for smoke breaks while working? Better scent proof your stash so the dog doesn't smell it. Did you come to the public side to ask your question because you know those of us on the police side wont help a burn out like you?

Re: 3 mile run benchmark

When I left for depot I ran a 3 mile in 28 to 30 minutes and a pare of 3:37. By the end of depot I ran a 3 mile of roughly 26 minutes and a pare of 3:09. My 1.5 mile times were around 11:30 I think. I was a slow long sidtance runner but an awsome sprinter. I practiced the pre at depot and not much o...

Re: Shin splints

I had shin splints back when I was applying to the force. I did two things to make it better: 1. Stretch the shins and all other leg muscles/hips. The internet (google) is full of stretches for the muscles. My favorite shin stretch is when you kneel on both legs with your feet stretched back, so the...
