Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

When I went through, a lot of troops didn't have 32, and that was just on the hair before they ramped it up to push more people through. ours had 24. A few troops in front of us had 21 another had 18. Just not enough people ready who have every stage completed to fill the troops.

Re: 24 hour roadside suspension

what the hell are you even saying? I think they were trying to say that Mike T won't be at Depot any time soon....... Your best bet is to apply and see what they say. I would not think 3 years is long enough no matter how many languages you speak or what level of education you have, but I'm not a r...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

I have a question for people who have been to Depot during the winter months, do you really need the thermal underwear? Like pants and shirt? Because I was told we don't run outside if it's colder than -20, so could I get away with wearing something a bit cheaper? I just came back from Sail and it'...

Re: Police Officers, your personal life?

I don't get my badge until May.....but I can't see it changing my personal life much. When I go home it's "me time" and I switch right out of work mode. I don't think about work or care about work unless I am at work. I find it downright insulting that you give your opinion as what a poli...

Re: Police Officers, your personal life?

Road work as a cop is hard. The constant change in the days you work (4 on/4 off) is nice at times but makes routine in the family impossible. You will always be sleepy, no matter when. Your spouse may care about what happens at work for a few years, but then they tire of hearing all the bullshit yo...

Re: Law Enforcement Reading List

Don't waste time going to school when you could be applying. I meet quite a few people who are solid yet keep taking more school rather than applying. They seem to think they have to get the absolute most schooling possible before applying. Whether you go to training with highschool education or a m...

Hope you two enjoy your pillow cases of extra cash. I'm sure my SRR will get me even more than that in the near future :|

Re: RCMP vs Victoria PD - considering cforces too

How is it offensive to want your applicant to have some post seconday? Is it also offensive that they require you have no criminal record and that you have a valid driver's licence? I hope you let E Div recruiting know how offended you are with some of the things that are required of you to get in. ...

Re: Blackhawk Belt Pad

So you're mounting all your tools on the belt? You must have a better service than me, I'd be hung if I showed up with that belt for GD. Looks like it would be a lot better than a nylon belt though.

Re: GENERAL RCMP APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

I can't believe someone made it through even part of depot with no watch. I was HARD up for cash when I went to depot so I had to use a wrist watch that needed winding every few hours. It had a fish that "swam" around the cicumfrence of the watch to count the seconds and fishing rods for t...

Re: Do the Mounties need an Association?

Yes. The SRR program needs to die and members need to wake up and realize that the SRRs work for management, whether some SRRs realize that or not.

Re: Troop 11 - November 8th 2010

I don't know if things have changed, but a while back when I was there, we had no time for hockey. Watch yourselves, even if you do find an hour for the ice, all it takes is one spill and your ankle gets screwed and so does your future job. I enjoy heaving lifting and gave it up at depot because you...
