Re: Man with no arms ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt

He doesn't have a leg to stand on.

But seriously.

Go to court and fight the ticket if you think you don't deserve it. If you think the cop was rude, then make a public complaint. Simple as that. This shouldn't be news.

Re: 5 year old shoots 2 year old sister in Kentucky

I saw a documentary once where little pre-school age kids took part in a session where they learned all about what to do if they found a gun: "tell a grown up and don't touch". They all learned this. Then they were brought to a play room filled with toys and hidden cameras. Among the toys ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

I'm curious if Depot is similar to BMQ, SQ, DP1 & 2, etc. where you should be a grey man. (Not finishing first or last, not speaking unless spoken to, etc.) I was always told that if the instructors don't know your name at the end of the course, you've done an excellent job. Seemed to work for ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Yeah I hear ya. I can see both sides of the argument to be honest. There is a part of me that always wanted to do a trade, and I have just as much respect for someone that did something along those lines as someone that has a University degree. Come to think of it, you might be better off as a carp...

Re: Successful Provincial or RCMP applicants work/schooling?

I know personally I am lacking inspiration.. Don't bother applying. Lol, I hope you don't take offence to this but it's not some anonymous person on an online forum that will discourage me from applying. Besides, I've already begun the process, to top it all off you don't know me. So thank you for ...

Re: The Sad Truth - Cannot Get Hired - Some Advice and Thank

You don't need to throw in the towel. Five years of trying is a long time but it's not out of the ordinary, and it's not like you have to put your life on hold because you've got an application in. As others have said, seek some real feedback from a recruiter. I'm not really familiar with the proces...

Re: City of Toronto Security Officer Requrements

No no, you're fine. When you get the PFO letter, just launch a complaint with the nearest Human Rights board with your claim of discrimination because you didn't have a driver's license. It's not right that they should have standards and requirements. Fine folks like yourself should just be given th...

Re: RCMP British Columbia applicants

I've been reading these threads for over a year now and have already seen its repetition, I can't imagine how annoying it must get for those who have been reading these for much longer... It helped to read a year or two back before starting to write anything on here, most of my would-be questions w...

Get a sports massage, ice, ibuprofen, rest, and when it's showtime, put the pedal to the metal and focus on the goal.

Re: Volunteer group responding to emergency calls

Edgerton admitted that their relationship with city police isn’t quite what he hopes it could be. That relationship got a little rocky when one former group member used his vehicle to close a road on a snowy night and began directing traffic in the dark. Yep, that'll put wrinkles in an otherwise go...

It wasn't that long ago that cadets were not paid. And they didn't qualify for EI then, either.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Depot Web, could you comment on the availability/frequency of Lateral Troops? Are they held when there is enough Lateral interest, or just announced and then filled up? Is there a 'set number' of troops allowed per the RCMP fiscal year? Thanks. Lateral entry troops are scheduled when there is suffi...

Like Meathead said. We've all done it. You'll start to hang out with LEO co-workers if you aren't already and you shouldn't have those problems anymore. Besides once you start laughing at things that are horribly innapropriate, or express your newly formed opinions your old friends are going to thi...

Re: LE and your friends.

These people are over 25 and they're giving you grief for not getting drunk and/or high with them? Completely apart from your job, go and find some grownups to be friends with.
