Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Given my timeline, does anyone know when I should roughly expect the OITP and call to Rigaud? Do you suggest I do the gun course now or when I get the call? If you are waiting for an invite without CFSC and CRFSC courses done and tests passed, you may wait for a while. I believe passing these is a ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

I just got bounced from my application process for not having a full G licence, which was NEVER a requirement when I applied, even though they're claiming it always was! They told me to apply to the next posting but there hasn't been a posting in a year if not more and I've already been waiting almo...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Does anyone have experience with bridging as an SBSO? What was your experience like? What do you want to know exactly? Specifically how long it took for the bridging to happen. What was the length of time that it took to get an offer to go to Rigaud? Was there any additional steps you had to take i...

Re: FSWEP SBSO 2019-20

Applied Nov 23 and haven't heard a single peep. Probably should've applied when the applications opened, but hopefully they haven't filled the spots yet. I feel like a lot of it may be luck of the draw lottery picks anyways. I've applied every year for the past 4 or 5 years and haven't heard back o...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

You'll do classes twice a week. They start off with assessments. Pare, plank, push ups, etc. to see where your baseline is. To be quite honest, most people with any fitness experience tend to take their classes lightly because for anyone with a lot of experience in the gym, they don't find them eff...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

^^ This exactly! One of the reasons Post-Secondary can help you is your competency essays during your FB-02. If your essays don't jive, you better get some help on them. Thankfully writing is my strong suit! And by the sounds of it FB-02 is mostly essays which means there should be decent time to c...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

If CBSA implements that process someone mentioned earlier : To assign POE at the invite time, matching the selected preferred work locations on the Application, would be great. That will assure only happy recruits are in training, no stress and anxiety for weeks till the random draws for POE occur....

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Ask most recent OITPs how long it took them to get through the process, you probably won't get many saying less than 2 years. Be ready for the long haul when you apply, and be pleasantly surprised IF it's shorter. 2 years is about right, don't forget you also have the 12-18 months as an Officer tra...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Just received the following email from recruitment, "Please note that your CATIII will be expiring prior to the next intake on July 6 2020. Someone from our team will be in touch with you in the next few months to reschedule your CATIII. once you have valid CATIII results you will be invited to OIT...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

I can agree with the anger about new recruits getting their choice priority over seasoned BSOs. Internal transfers should come first; they do everywhere else. The only argument I have against new recruits getting placed there, is that NS can't turn into a retirement home for the CBSA and have only ...

Just completed my interview for SBSO! Not allowed to talk about it so I won't. Waiting for my results now! I was also instructed before the interview to submit paperwork for my security clearance.
Congratulations! 😁 Still no response on my end. 😕

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Hi, Good question. Hi guys, Wondering if anyone has any idea how difficult it is to get posted in Atlantic Canada? I’m from New Brunswick and there doesn’t seem to be many recruits from this area on the forum, I’m hoping to get an idea if many seats are available in NS, NB or pei.. Also if hoping f...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Hi guys, I have passed the OTEE and have been waiting for the interview since March 2019. Just wondering if has something to do with the numbers of working locations I picked at the beginning of the application? And if so, can I contact CBSA to change my selection and hoping the process would be sl...
