Re: PX4. Now I see why it has a short service life!

It's interesting that only the feds seem to care about magazine disconnects. I wonder who the guy at the desk is that decided on it being mandatory.

Re: University shooting sports club/society

They can't ban a club that participates in a legal activity off-campus. If you meet resistance, you should consider approaching either Solomon Friedman or Ed Burlew, both firearms lawyers that might do some pro-bono work, and seek out assistance of the CSSA. They might be able to help you out as wel...

Re: Armed Chinese Troops in Texas

Why do you people hate the liberals... please explain Not so much hatred, but more a conclusion that they are vehemently anti-gun, ie.. Paul Martin: "I've come to the conclusion that we should ban handguns," Michael Ignatieff: “ Nothing can be solved with a gun, any time, anywhere .” Dalt...

Re: advantages for joining a gun club?

It depends on the club, and whether they have sessions where you can rent club firearms, if they have any. It will vary widely by club.

But life is so short, so buy a gun :D

Re: University shooting sports club/society

Don't give up. Carleton U has an on campus club: facu.ca/

Shooting is a recognized Olympic activity. If you keep the shooting off campus they should have no reason not to allow it.

Re: Mounties will get more firepower

I'm sure the training and implementation costs will pale in comparison to the actual rifle costs. IIRC the training was to be about a week long from the release? Dave, you mentioned about the force possibly reducing the effectiveness of the rifle in some manner, can you elaborate or is that being s...

I suppose if Remington made 30 round mags specifically for this firearm, they would be legal, since it is a manual action? :D

If she is genuinely concerned, get her a quality flashlight that: - is made of metal with an LED light - throws at least 125 lumens of light - runs on Lithium ion batteries - is small enough that she will actually carry it in her pocket - automatically turns on to it's brightest setting when the but...

Re: Private Memeber's Bill Introduced To End Long Gun Registry

Gardner, a Toronto councillor (North York Centre) has had a controversial attachment to firearms for about 20 years. He had a rare permit to carry a concealed weapon in Ontario, suggested at one point that shop owners be armed and then, years later, in 1992, shot a suspect trying to rob his North Y...

Re: Private Memeber's Bill Introduced To End Long Gun Registry

Yes, which makes it a soft-sell confiscation. The British government required that they be turned in right away. In Canada it's a slow vice grip. Which makes me wonder why Pete thinks that confiscation concerns are for tinfoil hats :). Maybe he can explain.

Re: Private Memeber's Bill Introduced To End Long Gun Registry

- scrap the long-gun registry; - make aluminum-foil head-covers for those worried about wholesale confiscation. Oh, by the way - what's a gun?! If the lieberals had got reelcted the year Harper got his first minority..confiscation would have been well under way. Martin was going to ban handguns.. E...

Re: Suggestions for a first pistol?

I haven't gotten acquainted to the rules about advertising and although i highly doubt this goes towards that, if i write something wrong on this post go ahead and mod it. So this store in Drummondville called "Sportèque" sells glocks. What i was told by them was that they could give me a...

Re: Suggestions for a first pistol?

Been giving a lot of thought lately to purchasing a pistol. But, all I know about guns is that they make a really loud noise, and are less reliable than knives. Any advice/suggestions on a suitable first choice would be appreciated. Not looking for anything fancy, or terribly expensive. I've heard ...
