Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

It always amazes me how some people say PARE is OK to postpone till the end, while CBSA reminds about doing it very early in the process, even with the email about the Interview. I did it early and all steps and progress was fast so far, may have to redo it, but will never see it as a loss anyway. ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

When they send you an email about your pysch you will get a time/location. You won't get to choose Thanks for your info! Since I completed my interview and PARE, really wonder when I’d receive the psych schedule~ I don't think the PARE will have any effect on when you get your pysch but I see your ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Hey Kittycat I wrote both exams on the same day and had to drive over 3 hours to get there. As far as I know you have to be there in person otherwise how would they know that it was you who wrote the exams. I told the psychologist when I was finished that I had come from another city and he told me...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Got my CATIII appointment booked but I didn't think it would be in 3 months, lol. I was hoping it would be within the month or something. Guess the clinic is really busy. Question though, what kind of tests will I be doing other than the vision and hearing that's mentioned on the Selection Process....

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Its not clear what interview you are talking about, if you are the point of the integrity interview, every pre-requisite should have been done by now. If nothing has moved in a few months, contact recruitment. the interview that's administered to evaluate the following competencies: dealing with di...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Thanks for the tips! But I’m not sure the next step is psych assessment, medical or security clearance. Can the psych assessment paper can be done online or have to be done at the Center in person? The next step should be the pysch, then send security clearance paperwork in, then medical (At least ...

Re: Hearing Test Fail

lol...wear a hearing aid for a hearing test??? Isn't that cheating?? LOL...I know this will never be allowed in the army...I know because I tried it once and was told to remove it! So as about a dozen or so guys in my unit who tried that and was told not to wear hearing aids. I had a friend who did...

Thanks all!

May I know for the psych assessment, how does it go?

Multi choice paper? Then meet the psych face to face?
Pretty much, I think its the mmpi (which you could lookup) and then you book your face to face. Goodluck!

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Wow.. thanks Dave. I can sense the tough love. Jokes aside, I believe you advice is sincere. I totally agree that gun safety is of utmost importance. I will take your advice. There are a few reasons the applicants may not attempt it off the bat. They are not well informed by the hiring managers/rec...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

First time poster here, I have my PDI in a few weeks and I need to have my reference letters done asap. Is there criteria the references should follow, certain points needing to be covered? I went through a file manager swap so there seems to be a few things missing and out of place. Thanks! I just...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Given my timeline, does anyone know when I should roughly expect the OITP and call to Rigaud? Do you suggest I do the gun course now or when I get the call? It always amazes me when I read how applicants want to hold off on the CFSC/CRFSC until absolutely necessary; wait until the last minute; or, ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Yes, mine expires next month but they emailed me to redo it again and is being rescheduled I am not sure if you understand my question. Thank you for your info though :) I believe medical and psych are both required to be completed in full before OITP and PARE as well. The only exception is securit...

So, word on the street for cbsa is. There is a hiring freeze ?
Hmm...could that be why I've been in the process for a year now and haven't had my interview yet??
I doubt it, I think you got unlucky though. I have two friends who applied in Feb of 2019 and both are waiting for pysch results

Re: Just joined wanting to apply

Hey guys, I’m new here and I only joined to read the CBSA related subjects. I’m going to applying this Feb when they start the new hiring process. I can’t wait but I’m scared. I’ve been wanting this job since I was 11, ever since I arrived to Canada. I just need pointers. What am I expecting in the...
