Re: Thoughts on Off-Duty Firearms

Hasn't this been beaten to death already. Somewhere in here, probably. But, newer users start new discussions with new (ok, maybe not so new...) ideas. And thanks Jim Street. I know PO's are exempt, but thought a PAL course might be included in the firearms training component. Guess I'll go registe...

Re: Tow Question PLEASE HELP: Car Abandoned by owner on property

Move it out on the street somehow, and let the guy know. If he doesn't come pick it up in a week, call in an abandoned vehicle on the street. Let it sit in impound instead. (Don't take this as legit advice... I don't know if you'd be held responsible for anything. I just thought it'd be a good laugh...

Re: Thoughts on Off-Duty Firearms

Bwaaa? I held off getting my PAL because I was under the impression that firearms training in the academy / college / etc. included getting a PAL. I'm aware of the laws regarding police officers carrying firearms. It would just make sense though that since police basic firearms training is the CRFSC...

Re: Caribana 07

Yeah, I spent four years on bike patrol and my partner and I had a ton of pictures taken by tourists. What my partner would do was give them his business card and ask them to send a duplicate picture. He ended up with letters from all over the place. (I know, he kinda needed a life........) A pic o...

Re: Family member (sort of) in trouble - what will the CBSA thin

Thanks, guys. Good to hear. My idiot cousin's wife maintains that her brother isn't guilty because: 1) They told the cops to come back later when they came to kick down the door, but the cops refused to oblige. 2) The cops intimidated him. We're not dealing with the shiniest apples on the tree, her...

Sounds to me like positional asphyxiation. I assume this is taught to all LE as it is to us? Don't know - I think you're right with the positional asphyxiation idea though. Especially if the person restraining between the shoulders was applying more force than he intended to "in the heat of th...

Re: Re:

And Z#, Portage might have a lot of cars, but they cover a huge area. A chase involving a car going 100km/h is very fast and very unpredictable, its hard to get someone in the right place in time to be able to put a belt down, particularly if the chase was called off and thus they don't know where ...
