Re: Toronto ETF (the security company)

Add in the stupidity of wearing a thigh rig, to make it appear as if they are armed, is putting themselves at risk for getting shot. Gang bangers don't give a damn you have a patch that says "firearms instructor".... they aren't scared of armed police, let alone a wannabe who will never b...

Re: Toronto ETF (the security company)

In BC, a Security Guard carrying or using a badge could be issued a VT for $115. Does Ontario have such a Law? Yes, Ontario prohibits security guards from carrying badges. The fines are much larger though. (upto $25,000) Up to $25,000? That’s a huge fine!! I wonder if they got badges for all their ...

When I was hired with Transit Security (Vancouver) back in 2006, the rumour was it's about who you knew, etc. I didn't know anyone and still got the job. Just keep trying, because you never know!

I'm glad EPS caught this POS! I hope they throw the book at him!

On a side note, Im not a fan of contracting that type of work out. They should be employed by the city, not a private business.

Impersonate Peace Officer

Hey guys

I know there's a few who are big into shoulder flash collecting. Does anyone recognize this shoulder flash or the person wearing it? http://www.edmontonpolice.ca/News/Media ... ficer.aspx

Re: Do LEOs value Security personel?

but the lower your standards, the crappier the applicants you will attract . I agree 100 %. I ticketed a few Security Guards on their way to/from work in the last year. Most of them were using a UPass illegally (and lying about being the R/O) and one was illegally using his wife's disability pass. ...

Re: Winnipeg Bus driver killed

Very sad. Does Winnipeg have their own Transit Security/Enforcement? They don't. Transit Supervisors have Special Constable / Peace Officer status but that really just lets them turf people from buses and bus shelters. They call police for everything else. That doesn't sound like it would work very...

Winnipeg Bus driver killed

Very sad. Does Winnipeg have their own Transit Security/Enforcement? m The fatal stabbing of a Winnipeg Transit driver is thought to be the first time a city bus operator has been slain on the job. Dave Wardrop, the city's chief transportation and utilities officer, said while drivers have died in c...

Re: Vancouver Police Department Questions

Hi guys, I was hoping someone can answer a simple question. I was just curious as to what a regular VPD constables daily shift entails?? Does it change every shift in terms of what your duties are or what area you are in? also how does senority come into play? For example, who does vancouver east s...

Re: EDiv A/Cst's petition to Minister of Public Safety

Not that it really compares to us in Canada, but the Los Angeles Police Department has a tiered Reserve Officer program. Looks like a decent program, but it's the USA, where the are a lot more firearms.

Re: Your opinion - By-law/MLEO Uniforms, PPE and Vehicles

Having any type of Law Enforcement, especially in a city such as Toronto, without the correct tools to protect themselves is the height of stupidity. Even more so when it is, as is the case here, for purely political reasons. Putting Officers of any stripe at risk because of political pandering is ...
