Re: BC Corrections
Thank you. I'm looking forward to it cause there's a ton of opportunity within BC Corrections and since it's still Provincial, I could move into Sheriff or elsewhere, and I'm sure the experience I'd get from it and other things I do, would help me get into Police if I decide down the road.

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada
If you were given an option to work min/med vs max institution what would the majority of you applicants pick? Just curious if there is a benefit at working at one Vs the other. Any input would be great. If I were to make a recommendation, it would be that every new officer should have to do their ...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada
Got an offer for Drumheller, training to start in PEI April 21. Tough decision because that’s a 1 1/2hr commute for me and I also have an offer from the provincial govt. But then again the provincial govt in AB is surely heading for big cuts so it might not be a secure job. For reference, my last c...

This is really painful waiting to hear from CSC. :banghead: You're not missing much. The stories I am hearing about institutions from the people who graduated in my core. Kinda sad, I didn't graduated, but the flipside is thank god I didn't graduate. The changes in policy. Ouch. As soon as you make...

-GCT2 -Fishery Officer Knowledge Exam -Written essay portion This was the testing when I went through the process. Not sure if it has changed since. How quick after your application do you write the exams? Is there study aids to prepare? It's been happening pretty quick this time: Nov 2019 - Applie...

Re: Fisheries Officer (DFO)
Hey everyone. I dug through this whole thread but I'm finding some conflicting info on specifically what written exams have to be completed in the testing portion of the process. Could anyone who has been through it just tell me how many separate tests there are and generally what they are testing ...

https://www.todaysnorthumberland.ca/2020/01/20/correctional-officer-at-warkworth-institution-violently-assaulted/ I toured this facility. It is really interesting in a housing unit with everything stacked up against the CX and their fears of being hit with an excessive force accusation if a violent...

Question Jolly,
Is it a Conditional Letter like in CSC that shows where you're going to be posted? Or is it one of those things you find out in Depot?

If you're going to Kingston, they'll supply the sweat pants. The guys at PEI sewed the pockets shut. They just don't want a hand getting in the pocket during self defense, excellent way to break a bone.
