Re: BC Corrections
Mashing my F5 key.. I couldn't take it anymore and called, they're working on our references.. I guess that also means if we go through for training in December, we'll be getting Christmas off.... The last Christmas off for YEARS!

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada
Hi everyone, I see there's a lot of people going into CTP3 soon.. I cannot stress this enough how important this one thing is. All your training, conflict resolution, and use of force revolves around the multi-colored circle of the 'Engagement and Intervention Model'. If you google that exact phrase...

Re: Ask A BC Sheriff
On September 9th. I ran a few practice COPAT's at Redline in Langley. Afterwards, I help setup a SOPAT course and about 8 or 9 candidates showed up to run their official SOPAT's.
I don't know if that helps anyone for timeframe but... I also don't know how to end this post. Life finds a way..

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada
You can complete CTP2 a day before CTP3 if you want to.
The first few weeks of CTP3 is pretty much going through your CTP2 answers.. Aside from the Law & Policy exam on the first week.
It took me a few weeks, I know some CX that did it in a few days. All depends on how much time you devote to it.

Re: BC Corrections
Tbh. You probably won’t find the answers to your question here. Don’t overthink, go outside, take walks. Get your mind off of things. If it doesn’t happen you know for next time. But don’t jump to conclusions immediately following your CVSA, that’ll just kill your mental health and stress you out to...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada
For CX or PW? Do the CXs and PWs go to core together and do same classes? With the difference beginning with the on the job training? When I was in CTP 3.. Yes. PW's and CX did pretty much everything together. But when we were on the firearms, the PW's did a different class as there are no firearms...

Re: BC Corrections
That’s why its called a “conditional”letter offer. It’s on the recruitment process pdf on the job posting. Peoples apps vary. I applied in july, i have my interview next week. I ran my COPAT last week. Ikong was a 6 month wait. Which i think is incredibly fast. My friend who just got hired was an 8 ...

Re: BC Corrections
Good job, did they give out the second try if people failed or just one try for this time? And which center you want to go the most? They don't do cross-center training anymore because of COVID, and continue with your physical training, you will need it for the COVID style force options training la...

Re: BC Corrections
We ran our COPAT's this week. I did pretty good. From what I heard from the previous slot, many failed. The COPAT is no joke. People reading this in the process about to do their COPAT's take it seriously and specifically train for it. Run/Sprint/Burpees/Situps.. Lots and lots and lots. You don't h...

Hi, just saw your signature, "Royal Canadian Marine Search & Rescue", I assume you are also a Canada Coast Guard Auxiliary member just like most of the other Marine S&R organizations' member. :D I was a former Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary member with PARA (Pickering Auxiliary Rescue Association)....

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada
I'm not sure how long the process takes, and I know it's different for everyone. But it's getting ridiculous now. I started the process back in June 2018, it's been well over 2 years now, and I understand COVID is delaying the process, but it's ridiculous now, and it's frustrating how CSC doesn't c...
