What Ontario Police Services are hiring right now?

I'm working on getting applications out to pretty much every police service in Ontario. Does anyone know of any police services who are actively hiring right now?

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Didn't even get an interview. I wanted OPP as a number one choice because I felt that my background fit OPP better than any other service. I don't have a lot of ties to any community which is a problem for applications to municipal services.

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

I'll try. OPP was my first choice. At least now I've got the freedom to apply to EVERY other service in Ontario.

"Yeah, that's your opinion"

I was happy with what I got out of it. Need to keep working on keeping myself marketable though. Not even Auxiliary is hiring right now.

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Absolutely. I wanted to learn everything I could about it before I applied though. PF also gave me the opportunity to see the job first hand which was very eye opening. PF alone is a waste but PF on top of everything else has given me more confidence in my decision to pursue Policing as a career.

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

I took PF. I also have a degree in business management / marketing and have worked in the IT sector for years. The main reason I took PF was because I'm not a citizen of Canada. I'm here as a Permanent Resident and, as such, wanted to get a background in the Canadian legal system. PF also allowed me...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

For those who are hired but didn't get in "on the first kick of the can" where do you think you went wrong the first time and how did you go about fixing it?

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

I was watching this flame session unravel while at work. I just wanted to say, in Recruit13's defense, that the entire process is frustrating since we get absolutely no feedback on what specifically is in need of improvement. I'm crossing my fingers since I finally think I'm 99.9% ready to go throug...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Rookie, I think you may have made a mistake on the application. The application says to list all work experience and to use more pages if necessary. To have a job show up on your resume but not application looks like the application is incomplete, imo. As an example, my work history was 5 pages long...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Sorry to hear about your deferment. It's a comforting thought that they're spending more time on my application. I just hope they didn't drop it behind a desk or something 88)

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

This is what I received: Thank you, your application has been received! Please be advised that incomplete or applications over the 5mb (mega bites) will not be accepted and returned to you with instructions. NOTE: We receive numerous applications every day. Should your application not go through due...

Re: OPP Applicant Updates Thread

Any guesses as to how long it takes to hear back after submitting an application? I'd guess about 2-4 weeks but with the OPC class deferral, maybe it'd take longer?

Speaking of which, are OPP and other services still hiring or is that postponed too?

Re: have you ever been convicted of any criminal offence?

That's fine, I'm just wondering if I need to put 'yes' as the response to the question about having a prior criminal conviction. 3 speeding tickets is the closest thing to a criminal record that I have.
