Re: Brinks vs Garda (G4S) to work for

I was speaking with Inkas CEO a while ago and she asked if I had applied. I told her I hadn't and she suggested I apply. So I did. Never heard back... Inkas operates out of white sprinter vans - not sure if armored or not. I've never seen them though. I did hear that they're actively recruiting righ...

Re: Brinks vs Garda (G4S) to work for

An expired vest is better than no vest at all.

Re: Brinks vs Garda (G4S) to work for

It all depends. If your friend is not getting hours right now he must be way low on the seniority. Summer is normally super busy for casuals due to full timer's vacations. Either way, it's something that's earned. Make sure he keeps the phone handy and take every shift that's offered. Which branch i...

I've heard the Gatineau branch is hiring and there's a sign-on bonus for those with experience. PM me if you want further details.

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Just got word that I was unsuccessful in my interview. Also found out it's a 2 year wait to reapply. I thought I did well in the interview so at this point I'm gutted. I also failed my second attempt at an ECI for a police service so at this point I'm wondering wtf I'm doing wrong. I'm open to sugg...

Re: Brinks vs Garda (G4S) to work for

Not sure with brinks re: pay. I also heard that Brinks guards have the option of wearing a vest since they have to pay for half. On the plus side I hear they operate in 3 man teams. Not sure if that's accurate though - all hear say.

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Does anyone have any advice for the first interview? Also, for postings, where is the most common place where new recruits are sent? If you're sent somewhere you'd prefer not to be, how long would it take to transfer elsewhere?

Just curious. Thanks!

Re: RCMP Ontario applicants

That's good to hear. I got worried with the SFPQ score of 65 because it said something about 43%. I felt good about the RPAT score but the SFPQ is something I just don't know much about.

Re: RCMP Ontario applicants

I just took the entrance exam and I'm a bit fuzzy on what it all means. I know the RPAT passing score is 3.2 and I managed to get a 4.09. The SFPQ score is 65 though. I don't know if that's good, bad, or otherwise. The total RPAB score is 286.

Just trying to get an idea of how I did.

Thanks.

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

I've got the first two tests coming up. GCT and WCPT.

Anyone have any tips? I'm sure I can scour through the past 500 pages looking for information but it's not as interactive.

Anyone else have testing coming up this month?

Opportunites in and around Ottawa

A few months ago me and my family moved to the Ottawa area. I've applied to the Canadian Mint, Senate protection services, CSIS security, and to the Ottawa Police Services. I missed the opportunity to apply for 1 of 15 spots with OC Transpo which is frustrating. What else can I apply to in the area?...

I didn't manage to apply in time. I'll have to keep an eye out for future postings.
