Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Thank you for all the replies! I was also wondering if anyone could tell me if I can re-write the chapter exams? (for study purposes). For some reason I am nervous to write it due to the chance of losing this great opportunity. I have tons of notes and I remember a lot from the top of my head, hope...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

These new jackets better have ability to have correctional officer on back and front. I've heard there is some debate to whether having markings on the chest / back are good for identification purposes or bad because they give a reflective item for a bad guy to aim at. My vest and jacket had (remov...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Every so often there is a post that makes you laugh out loud. A tutor? Wow!
WTF
Hahahaha Wow, I just had a chance to read the posts. That is funny but that is Damn auto correct for ya. Not tutor! He was getting a tatoo! That's where my buddy saw this tool. So cx3s look out for some...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

We were at the outdoor shooting range for 2 weeks with our bomber jackets 3 weeks ago... It was horrible. Our instructors said that CSC is currently working on a 3 in 1 jacket. Is it the 5.11 you're talking about? Like the ERT black jacket?
The 5.11 jacket they were wearing out here is calle...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

The 5.11 are going to be the new issue jackets to replace the bomber-style we currently have. From what I have heard (Ontario region) they have too many Bombers sitting in stock and need to get rid of them before we switch to the 5.11 version. I think we should all order a bomber to get rid of the ...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

When I did a tour of an Institution in BC, all the C.O's were wearing 5.11(gortex) jackets instead of the bomber jackets / parkas. Since I did not see these jackets on the Unicrop website, I was wondering if the 5.11 jacket is a west coast issued piece of equipment due to the amount of rain we recei...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I agree 100%. Out of my wife's core, 5 of the 16 that graduated (13 months ago) have all ready transferred or had transfers approved prior to the new contract. There is something just not right about that. I know CSC needs people but there should be consequences to not fulfilling your contract, like...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Not to rain in on peoples parades but we need more CX, all to often people use CX as a way into PO. I get it, its a easy way in but for onces be nice to see people join the ranks to be a CO. I just hate seeing officers with under 6 months either move to a CX2 postion or go off acting as a PO,etc. J...
