Re: 2010 BC Assessement property values

There's a link on that same story of a 12 foot wide home in Point Grey that sold for 1.35 million.

Absolute insanity.

Re: S&W 5946 R.I.P

Technically, one could teach officers to PROVE the firearms safe before disassembly. At what point does it become necessary to install a big funnel on the roof of a patrol car leading down into the gas tank instead of just teaching people to remove the gas cap before filling up their cars? You get ...

Re: S&W 5946 R.I.P

Calling a magazine disconnect a 'safety' feature is like calling a cement barrier an emergency brake. Unless the current attitude from the armorers shop and some in procurement changes, the rcmp will never select a gun for the general membership that can only be disassembled after the trigger has b...

Re: S&W 5946 R.I.P

Let me just say that magazine disconnects are the stupidest feature ever invented in handguns.

Wow, almost identical valuation to my home, and I think I pay something like 1250 a year in property tax.

Re: A.T.R.'s Duty Knives Thread

Just recently spent about $100 on two knives for EDC purposes, and damn did I get my money's worth. The first is an awesome little friction folder hand forged in japan called a Higonokami. This blade is gorgeous and insanely sharp. I could probably shave with it easily. The blade is super strong and...

...and here in Campbell River our house valued at less than 1/3 of your place cost us about $2500 in taxes last year. That seems pretty steep. What's the deal with that? Maybe this will help explain...city council just voted to spend about 4 million dollars on an artificial turf soccer field....the...

Re: The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

Good call!! Still working on it. I'm stumped after mine puzzle. Not sure what I'm supposed to do next. But don't given me any hints. At least no yet. I think you got stuck right at the point where I got stuck for a little bit. Let me know if you need a little poke in the right direction, because th...

WOW!

Just finished this game, and I will say it's one of the most unique and haunting games I've ever played. I'm sure I'll play through it again at least once from start to finish to try to get every last detail from it. I won't give it any spoilers, but for sure it was worth the 8.99 investment lol

Re: The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

Saw it advertised on Steam but didn't really look at it. Now that you've made me actually go look at it - WOW. Beautiful looking game. Not sure really what the gameplay actually is like, but the atmosphere that it looks like it has is unreal. Oh yeah, it's gorgeous for sure. There's a video on the ...

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

Just got this crazy game today for super cheap ($9.00 on sale) because it seemed beautiful, atmospheric and intriguing. It's a mystery/puzzle/adventure/horror game where you play as a detective with psychic powers who has the ability to "speak" to the dead to solve crimes. You receive a cr...

Re: 2010 BC Assessement property values

It's all Chinese buying here. I see listings of tare downs here in range of 900 to 1.2 for 7k sqf lot. Then you get 10 to 20 biders. Mine is 9.3k/corner lot. I believe that's a bunch of media hyped BS. lol already replied to this I realize. Oopsie. But yeah, it kinda sucks. Even out in the Valley i...

Re: Canadian Coast Guard

I say this with total respect for all they do for safety and search and rescue( I have worked with the Coast Guard in our area), but that I refer to them as the firefighters of the water. They know how to BBQ/cook etc. Irish, that's awesome! What did you guys do with the Coast Guard (if you're able...

Re: Canadian Coast Guard

Anybody ever considered a career with the Canadian Coast Guard as a Ship's Officer? I put an application in on a whim and I'm currently making my way through the hiring process. My end-goal is definitely with policing, so I have a lot of reservations with the CCG as it's not law enforcement at all....
