Re: AR15 petition

.... First of all the only smart thing which I believe should stand in Canadian firearms laws is licensing. Ìt will weed out those not of sound mind to have a firearm... I wholeheartedly agree with this. Even in the USA where the right to keep and bear arms is explicitly enshrined in the constituti...

Re: Wild Hogs in BC?

broadside they aren't bad to bring down..if it decides to charge you head on..it's about 4 inches wide and it's front shoulders are all cartilage.. when my buddy hit it with his first shot it was broad side..when the buckshot hit him..he turned and charged us.. Well, if 5 rounds of 7.62x54R aren't ...

Re: Toronto police rolling out carbines

People complain about police getting patrol carbines and expect them to go up against killers with hunting rifles, armed with only their handguns? You're right, this is insanity. People in general have so little comprehension of firearms that they don't realize how outgunned a police officer with o...

Re: Wild Hogs in BC?

had the chance to hunt one that escaped from a hunting reserve here a few years ago. That thing soaked up 5 rounds of #4 buck before it went down. I've heard they're tough! I was planning to hunt with my Mosin Nagant M91/30, and I was planning to bring the bayonet for that reason http://www.keepsho...

Re: Toronto police rolling out carbines

I'm sorry to hear you went through all that BS for simply stating some facts and drawing very reasonable conclusions from them, Dave. Those individuals who were so vehemently criticising you were definitely acting as their own worst enemies. Perhaps I have an interesting perspective in that I'm both...

Re: A message from a CGN Moderator - Public side

VanSmack - I've met "lots" of cops and other law enforcement. By far most of the ones I've met are either gun owners or at least fairly pro-gun in general. I rarely ever meet any that are against gun ownership. You can take that for what it's worth, I don't claim that it's universally app...

Re: AR15 petition

One example, the SVD Dragunov. Totally different design from the AK, designed by a different person, designed for a completely different purpose, chambered in a totally different cartridge, has zero interchangeable parts with an AK, has only ever been semi-automatic - somehow magically classified a...

Re: AR15 petition

[ We also need to have a government that stops listening to ignorant boobs who know absolutely nothing about guns, crime or anything else and start listening to groups who actually know guns and have actual evidence backing what they're saying when they take consultation on firearms related laws. b...

Re: AR15 petition

Signed - and I don't even own an AR-15 I agree, the RCMP should not be the ones deciding what is and what isn't legal. Not their mandate to make the laws. Stump We also need to have a government that stops listening to ignorant boobs who know absolutely nothing about guns, crime or anything else an...

Re: Toronto police rolling out carbines

Dave, as always your post is informative and well written. Could you get a spot on CBC evening news and share this with the rest of Canada? Joe Public really needs to hear this.

Re: Toronto police rolling out carbines

I love how they put up the huge headline about the police getting "MILITARY STYLE ASSAULT RIFLES" that are "high-powered" When in fact what they're getting are semi-automatic civilian legal rifles chambered in what is arguably one of the least powerful center fire cartridges. Jou...

Re: A message from a CGN Moderator - Public side

I have pretty much given up on trying to convince gun owners that the police are NOT their enemy, and that a threat to police is a threat to us ALL. Unfortunately, the RCMP brass have shown themselves to be the enemy of law abiding gun owners, while the rank and file are mostly gun guys. The latter...
