Re: Liberals will move to topple Harper government

On a personal level, I don't really care about having to vote again. It takes very little time out of my day, and isn't a big deal. But the polls are suggesting that things are going to be no different. So instead of allowing parliament to sit and actually govern our country, we are going to go thro...

Re: Purple K

I am bumping an old topic, but I just started on the Purple K about a week ago, and love it so far. I do CrossFit, and am certainly noticing my ability to complete the workouts (workouts like todays for example which involves walking lunges, pull-ups, and sit-ups) easier. I hated taking creatine pow...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

After about six years of waiting, I finally put the application in to the EPS about a week and a half ago. I haven't really participated on this forum much in the recent past, but this has been a tremendous source of information and knowledge. I owe a lot of people here a lot of thanks and praise fo...

Re: Crossfit Workouts

I would love to come down to MPA to do WODs but I live in the far east end so the drive would be longer than the workout in most cases haha. Are there many Queens Own that are out with you guys? On a side note, can anyone actually do 50 pullups? or do u break them into sets, or sub for other exerci...

Re: Crossfit Workouts

You're a machine.

Any suggestions on how to do the weighted pull-ups from yesterday? I can try and hook a dumbbell between my legs, but is there an easier way?

Re: Speed limits, passing lanes, impeding traffic

In Canada, or specifically Alberta, are there laws regarding the left most lane of a highway? Is one legally allowed to drive exactly at the speed limit in that lane (when not passing)? Or, if you are doing that, and traffic is building up behind you, are you in violation of impeding traffic laws? ...

Re: Speed limits, passing lanes, impeding traffic

The problems seem begin if you start to impede traffic at that speed, which really shouldn't be happening if you are going the speed limit. Maybe you're driving on Mars. I don't know... I'm not a doctor. However, I think on most highways in Canada, if you're driving the speed limit in the left lane...

Use of Highways and Rules of the Road Regulation Driving at appropriate speed 2(1) A person shall not do any of the following: (a) notwithstanding that a speed limit is prescribed by or pursuant to the Act or any other Act in respect of a highway, drive a vehicle on that highway at any rate of spee...

Re: Speed limits, passing lanes, impeding traffic

Normal speed of traffic...can that ever be more than the speed limit? It should only be less, or right at the limit, no?

Speed limits, passing lanes, impeding traffic

Having a discussion on another forum regarding speeding and passing lanes and impeding traffic, mostly on highways. In Canada, or specifically Alberta, are there laws regarding the left most lane of a highway? Is one legally allowed to drive exactly at the speed limit in that lane (when not passing)...

Re: Start Crossfit or continue going to the gym for the summer??

For crossfit workouts at home, I have a chin-up bar, and I recently bought a bench that has the capabilities for shoulders, squats..etc. I also bought a skipping rope. Pretty inexpensive stuff. Especially compared to what the local crossfit gyms want to charge per month.

Re: EPS change their physical fitness requirements

Then they just haven't changed the application package yet. Effective April 16, 2008: The Edmonton Police Service will no longer be administering component testing as part of our Physical Fitness Testing Requirements. The only fitness requirement will be the P.A.R.E. test with a new maximum time of ...
