Re: Multiple Applications?

It's been a long time since I went through the application process. But I applied for multiple services at the same time. My response was that I wanted to be a police officer first and was willing to work in different locations to do it. Didn't seem to be an issue. It somewhat worked in my favour. W...

Re: The Sad Truth - Cannot Get Hired - Some Advice and Thank

I know there are some recruiters are extreme bias. I had an interview with Toronto police, this coksucker actually told me to go back to my own country. My advice to you is keep trying other agencies. Prolly cuz you couldn't spell COCKSUCKER properly. That would be an automatic deferral if I was in...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

Also has to do with timing. If a suitable applicant comes along and there are vacancies for a class just around the corner, the process will be accelerated.

Re: Supreme Court strikes down prostitution laws

The balance is to try and reduce the victimization of those forced or trapped in the industry. I wonder why nobody cares to look at the North European countries as an example. (Info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostitution_in_Europe ) The way the Netherlands conducted their business seem to h...

Re: 38rd old female looking for career chg. any advice?

Achieving a high level of fitness isn't that hard. From what I've seen, the biggest challenge for older applicants is night shift. It's definitely harder as you get older. I can't imagine starting night shifts approaching 40. Try taking a week off work, and staying up all night 4 or 5 nights in a ro...

Am I mistaken, or in the last have the potential class sizes not been larger than the actual sizes due to not enough qualified applicants?

Yes. And classes of 40 is confirmed.

Re: Indignant Dancing Crossing Guard Told to Stop

I don't have an issue with her dancing, but her directions are all over the map. While she's dancing and spinning, her sign and pointing go every which way. While it's not distracting, it could be confusing to some motorists especially some of the pinhead drivers out there.

Re: Epic Don't Drink and Drive Prank

The first thing that sprang to my mind is how the hell they set up a fake hospital room so quickly, especially if he had supposedly passed out the before....kinda requires a little pre-planning. I mean if you know your friend well enough to think/believe he is going to drive drunk, then when it act...

Re: Epic Don't Drink and Drive Prank

I saw the video a couple days ago. While the message is good, I think it's fake. Primarily for 2 reasons. 1) The part where the "doctor" starts slapping the dude in the coma. He doesn't connect. It's stage acting slapping. 2) The guy in the video is Tom Mabe, professional comedian and pran...

Re: Work experience being a hindrance?

Jebus Crisper, let it go. You all are not Judge and Jury, and quite frankly altering log books is not going to make it on a McNeil report. It also sounds to me from how it reads the applicant has a great deal of hard knock life experience that will help when they arrive at a situation where they ca...

It does, but probably not for long. A battle with the province. They want to spank us for not stopping the test at 7.0.

Re: Calgary Police Service

They stop immediately upon reaching level 7.0 Which is stupid. dont worry, if you get hired you will get plenty of opportunities to run until your eyes roll into the back of your head in PT class 'Preciate the optimism. 15 years in Edmonton already, and commenting from a recruit evaluation perspect...
