Regina City Police

I have searched the forums and don't see much about the Regina city police. Do we have any members online here? How difficult is the hiring? I'm assuming it's the same difficulty as any police force pretty much.

Re: Corrections In Manitoba

The job for the most part is a good one, and it pays well. I am just surprised the way things are run, thats all. Would I suggest someone not join up, no. But I just don't agree with some of the things. I know at my centre, I don't want to name it. We are treated like dirt. They play with our minds....

Re: Corrections In Manitoba

haha, ya. We did lose an inmate. We arent ever armed and they really hire anyone for the most part. Milner has low hours, my buddy there hasnt gotten above 70. Where i was used to be 100. They hired 28 new part timers pretty quickly. Hours are down to 50's. Corrections in winnipeg denied our jail an...

Correctional service Canada compared to Manitoba Corrections

Here is a question for you federal corrections people. I work in Manitoba corrections and I have to say that it's a joke. Understaffed, we hire anyone. No weapons in any institution. Just wondering if the federal system is like this. I was surprised to find the level of disorder in MB corrections. M...

Re: Corrections In Manitoba

Hey tbell. I thought I emailed you back ages ago but it didn't go. Did it today though. As far as hours I think all centers are the same. My friends in Milner and headingly all say around 60 hours. Sometimes it will pick up and get 85-100. The province is trying to cut down on over time. They are ov...

Re: Corrections In Manitoba

Entire uniform is provided. If you are just getting in now, you are lucky. For a few years we had no uniform supplier. You will get 3 uniforms once you get to your centre. You trade them in on a one for one bases. The only thing you dont get at your centre is boots and gloves. Near the end of traini...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

So, when you apply do you get a choice of a few different centers you would like to work at, or only the one you are choosing. Because there are 2 that I wouldn't mind to work at. Can I have an application in for separate institutions?

Re: Corrections In Manitoba

uniform to buy milk on the way home, big deal, personal choice. Really? At some centres that I know of (not sure if it is just by centre or by a policy for all of MB Corrections), it is a requirement to wear your ENTIRE uniform to and from work. No changing before you leave or when you get there. T...

Re: Corrections In Manitoba

Been a c01 for just over a year now. People, if you are inteviewing and they are taking a while to get back to you, its normal. Hell, they forgot to tell me when i was training, they even forgot to tell me I was hired. They told me I was training in November in my final interview for security before...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Anyone know when they will open the hiring process again? Wondering what my chances of working at SMI would be. I currently work in Manitoba corrections and if possible would like to stay in province.

Re: It looks like ford doesnt want to drop the police market.

ford may build something off their interceptor concept they had out a few years ago. Even if they are canceling the crown vic its nice to know they will give it their best shot to make something better. I think they can do it , if they are serious about the market.
