Re: Ontario Correctional Services

From reading from these forums, somebody said the instructor are head back to their spots. Maybe they received a heads up the end is near for training or the crisis in corrections is that bad. Yes, for God's sake, send all the "Professors" from the Correctional College back to their insti...

Re: Ontario Correctional Services

Your guy Ford certainly knows how to win in the 905....eager to see how this works out for us as a group. Our best bet for minister, Rick Nicholls, seems like he may get the Speakers chair instead of MCSC...

Re: Ontario Correctional Services

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL PCs hate inmates. They don't care what happens to inmates. They would prefer not to have to spend any money on them. The inmates' living conditions happen to be our (COs) working conditions. I will leave you to figure out the rest. Luxuries at jail upset corrections minist...

Re: Ontario Correctional Services

Seems pretty counter productive if you can't respect someone solely because they have less years than yourself. That's a real bad attitude to have. Noone is just handed respect. They need to earn it. Some earn it sooner than others. Day to day there's really no need to lord over anyone... There's n...

Re: Ontario Correctional Services

3 New hires where I am just transferred to the south. Let's just say where I am the seniority level is really high and FT is about 7 years away. They had personal reasons to transfer to TSDC and I support anyone who makes that move for the right reasons. A transfer to TSDC is easier to get than a l...

Is training full time hours? And is it possible to get ot during training. You're on the job training/shadowing will very likely add up to 40hrs./week It should be made up of a variety of posts and shifts (days/nights/afternoons... whatever your insts. schedule is) Depending on need you may get &qu...

....they can't hang you for going by the book. It's the learning from seniors and making it work for you that's tricky Sadly this is incorrect. They will hang you if you follow standing orders to the letter as it will inevitably lead to an accusation of "work slow down" or "job actio...

Re: Ontario Correctional Services

I had the same concern about hours because i would be leaving a lucrative but stagnant full-time position to persue a CO career. Based on the responses from a couple COs, the interviewers, and the sunshine list (haha) I dont think we'll have any problems getting shifts. Quite often you'd be offered...
