Re: Distance learning Police Studies in Canada?

Your suggesting a course with basically zero human interaction to help you get a job that is largely based on people skills? You'd be better off getting a part time Mcjob to get competencies and make some extra beer money.

Re: RCMP Uniform

I've seen some members get the new panels for about a year now. I assume it depends on the size and remaining stockpiles of the old stuff. Good to hear about the HBA carrier.

Re: Federal Election

If a certain someone wanted my vote he should have respected the labour contracts that his government signed. Instead he vilified the public service and ignored the contracts using the "saved" money to give tax breaks to his base. I don't trust the orange guys with anyones money and I can'...

Re: Richmond RCMP - could the end be near.

A regional police force in the LMD just makes sense. It's dumb that you can drive a few kilometers down Kingsway and go through 3 different policing jurisdictions within a few minutes. At the very least Vancouver, Burnaby and New West should be one force. But every mayor likes their fiefdom and the ...

Re: A.T.R.'s Duty Knives Thread

Just picked up a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 for duty and EDC use. Really top shelf blade, was split between the Benchmade griptilian, Benchmade 710 McHenry Williams, and Spyderco Manix 2 G10. Paid $145 out the door, seemed like a good price. Can i ask where you got a PM2 for $145? Also do you find it ...

You should stick as many shotgun shells as possible in the molle webbing... Almost makes the pens look professional in comparison.

Re: CBSA uniform components test phase

Some of us have so much drama ordering uniforms that the thought of going through that keeps us from ordering every year. I ordered new uniforms last year after not ordering uniforms in over 3 years and I swear the whole process, headache and grief was slightly worse than childbirth. I honestly felt...

Re: CBSA uniform components test phase

I looked at the companies website. Having a private company handle all the uniform stuff makes a ton of sense and probably brings numerous inefficiencies, lower cost and a better experience for the employees. I hope it works out and other federal law enforcement agencies can do something similar.

Those aren't homes. Those are places for wealthy Mr. Zhang or Mrs. Wang to hide money from the Chinese government. For actual homes look South of the Fraser or out in Maple ridge.

Re: RCMP Uniform

We all know how members wearing stuff on their vest is going to go... Sometime in the next couple of years some shit is gonna hit the fan somewhere and a member is gonna blame their f'up on being confused between something mounted on their vest and something mounted on their belt. Or a someone will ...

Re: CBSA Vests

I don't understand why CBSA thinks it always needs to re-invent the wheel with everything. The new RCMP carrier would work perfectly for us with "BORDER OFFICER/AGENT FRONTALLIERS" instead of Police. If you want a vest that fades to an awesome greyish color after a few washes be my guest.

Consider yourself lucky! A CBSA Barbie would be found only in Home Depot, resting atop of the lumber and 2x4s, only because the excess weight would bring down the shelves in Walmart and Target.

Re: BC RCMP Accelerated Recruiting 2013 - Women only.

I think an accelerated process for men and women might help the RCMP attract more applicants in general. Why spend two years in the RCMP process when you can apply to your local muni in half the time and not have to sell your house/move your family. As long as they maintain(improvement would be idea...
