Re: Danner boots Canada

The pair of Acadia's I've been rocking since 2008 (with a refurb done by Danner in Oregon in 2016) came from LeBaron's... which doesn't exist anymore.... Cabelas perhaps? Your local hunting store?

Re: Fisheries Officer (DFO)

Another opening today for Fishery Officers. I wonder what the odds are of being posted in Burlington, Ontario? That's probably the only place I'd want to go... Honestly, the likelihood is probably pretty slim. Since there's no real office around here, the only real place I'd want to go to would be ...

Re: Change to SK Conservation and CVE

Wow. Any hunters and fishermen in SK can just kiss their natural resources goodbye....
I hope this doesn't catch on elsewhere.

Yeah, expect your initial order of uniforms not to fit regardless if you send in correct measurements or not!

Re: Federal park wardens hiring

Generally provincial agencies hire summer seasonal officers for 4-6 month terms and are the way most folks build experience early in their careers (I spent 6 years as a seasonal in Ontario early on). Otherwise, if you're a police officer looking to change it up - rural and remote travel experience (...

Re: Federal park wardens hiring

Usually when the hiring criteria has strict education and experience requirements, they tend to stick to it. As an example, when I attempted to get on with BC Natural Resource Officer service, I was told in no uncertain terms that if someone did not meet their specific LE and education requirements...

Re: Conservation Officer Positions-Ontario

Interesting posting for Enforcement Interns is up. Can anyone share some more information on this position? I used to think that Deputy Conservation Officers were volunteers similar to Auxiliaries. However this intern position seems to be similar to a Cadet program... but also mentions going to OPC...

Won't go wrong on an 870 for value for money. And you won't cry if it gets scraped up from being used.

Re: Fisheries Officer (DFO)

Black uniform boots and running shoes! 'cause you'll have to earn wearing your boots. Pfft. I told drill fella I pre-earned that shit... We got to wear our boots from day one with Parks... but the DFO troop there at the same time had to wear their sneakers and earn their boots. The DFO troop was al...

Re: Fisheries Officer (DFO)

Ya...then maybe Parks and DFO can do the GT04 to GT05 progression like Environment Canada does. An officer can dream right?? The GT04 to GT05 setup at EC is pretty much ideal, if you're not going to hire people directly to full working level. And maybe come up with a system where you can more easil...

Re: Fisheries Officer (DFO)

I thought your region ran out of money? how much overtime you guys getting? It's pretty dry here on the pacific. I'm barley able to even pay rent with the 47k starting salary. I can't imagine the east coast much different with the budget... 47K!! DFO really needs to ditch the GT-02, GT-03, GT-04 pr...
