Re: Healthy social life?

I'm single, and with the exception of 2 coworkers, I never hang out with anyone that's related to my work. Most of my friends are from my past jobs, and school, etc. I like having that balance.

Re: Man in disguise boards international flight

I must say that I was not surprised that this document made it to CNN, the local news here in B.C, etc. The way it was forwarded around me was crazy and it spread like wildfire. I of course, did not contribute to the mass hysteria! I wonder if there are others here that saw one of the original email...

Case by case basis but you must be able to complete the PARE without using a fast acting inhaler beforehand.

How about afterward?

Re: CBSA Marine "Border Bullies"

Long gone are the days where people could cross wherever they wanted at whatever time fit their fancy. It still blows my mind that some people still think that Canada is just another extension of the USA. :banghead:

Re: Happy HST day Canada!

The same logic goes for gasoline taxes. If governments shaved 10 cents per liter off of the tax - do you thing the oil giants would drop gasoline prices by 10 cents? I don't think so. They'll raise the price of gas and pocket whatever the government didn't grab. Ya it's not going to happen (gas pri...

Re: CBSA Officers are not very nice!

As a BSO I take these articles with a grain of salt, like always. However I do feel the need to defend ourselves by stating that you give respect, you get respect back (in most cases of course). The blurb about the lady with the pretzels was ridiculous - I bet the officers boarded the train and they...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

The chance of movement right now is pretty slim, especially in certain regions. This is due to the hiring slowdown related to the recent budget.

Re: DOE Security Officer

If it pays more than 100 grand, gives me 5 weeks of holidays, plus another 3 weeks of family sick leave, plus another 3 weeks of sick leave, plus a personal day off, plus a volunteer day off and only requires me to work 4 hours a day...sign me up too. How do you manage to get 3 weeks of FR when mos...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

I think it's better to go in not knowing/thinking/overanalyzing what the scenario will be like. I am so glad that I wasn't fishing for info on here before I did my sims or I would have been a nervous wreck. Plus, who knows, some sims may have been changed a bit! I think everyone has heard a story or...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

It's funny that people mention having groups or partners to practice the sims with. I was one of those people who actually passed without the help of this. I did much better on my sims than I did on my writtens (must have been those years of customer service). It's just the way you learn. Like other...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

If you work air mode you need a stamp on your belt - you're using it constantly while you process travellers, from stamping passports to declaration cards to B4E's etc, etc....by the time you get home your fingers are full of ink. I beg to differ. No matter how much you use your stamp, there is abs...
