Considering transferring into the RCMP from my current force and was hoping there was someone out there that might be willing to share their experience (good or bad). In speaking with the E-DIV recruiter,...

Whether I can request a special cut from the armour or a special fit for the carrier. I have these panels and I brought them to AliTac in New Westminster. He made a carrier...

Re: CBSA to RCMP

Yes I did sorry for the confusion. I am by no means a veteran in either career and I have only spent a very short amount of time in each, but here is a short summary about I feel about each so far: CBSA Schedule: the shift work is less demanding on the body. I worked the VSSA scheduling at a land b...

Re: CBSA to RCMP

Thank you for the information on this thread. It specifically answers questions I had and covers my specific situation. What is a little concerning to me though is that when I called the recruiting office in Montreal, I was told that the only thing that made any difference in my case was that I cou...

Re: CBSA to RCMP

Question for you guys (maybe John014 can answer): Will the RCMP ask you to quit CBSA if you succesfully complete Depot? Sorry just saw this now. I would recommend taking LWOP while attending Depot. I took 18 months which consisted of two separate LWOP transactions: 12 months and 6 months which you ...

To add to Pete above.

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Polygraph and being abused. If there is illegal activity I am sensitive about due to being the victim, is that taken into account? I want to join but I know there are area's I will react to in ways I cant control. You are specifically told throughout the pre poly forms and in the polygraph intervie...

Re: *** ASK AN RCMP RECRUITER ***

What are recruitment opinions on applicants that have any kind of competitive combat sport experience? I have been told different things from different people; Individuals who have boxed in the past or grapple as a hobby may be exceptionally aggressive and the wrong temperament for a career in law ...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Can anyone comment or shed some light on what reasons someone is asked to go home from Depot? is it attitude, injuries, lack of effort? are there warnings or sitdowns to try and correct the behavior before hand? Its a lot of stress to give up your occupation and take minimal pay for 6 months and cu...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Silly question but, I already have both my restricted and unrestricted firearms license, still valid with no issues in the past. If/When I get a chance to go to the depot, will having my license allow me to fast track some of the basics or will I have to redo everything from scratch? Not a big deal...
